free web hosting space????
« on: August 04, 2011, 11:55:33 am »
this is OT but Does anyone know of a good free web host? I am making a Canvas Face Book page and need somewhere to host the html files and everything..

I tried to use google sites but Facebook considers it a redirect and blocks it.

If anyone has some webspace they can donate, the project is for military families and active duty here in Europe so it would be going to a good cause.

Nothing long term, it just needs to work for a short while until a permanent host is setup.

Thank you!

Does your host internet company supply some webspace? Most here in Canada supply a modest little setup included in their internet packages.

I think facebook is being a baby and is just blocking google stuff because they have started up google+. I would suggest making a facebook page but the problem with that is everyone would have to sign up on facebook to view/comment etc. You might give google sites another try and go through a redirect service [www.dot.tk comes to mind] and see if that is clever enough to bypass facebook's shananagins.

For my website I use www.jigsy.com - it doesn't do everything but with some tweaking I made a nice looking website for my business. It is template based but it's cheap. A quick google search provided me with this link that claims to be awesome and free with no ads - http://www.000webhost.com/
