Please critique my control layout before I start drilling.

Button up top are start, coin, start coin.  I tried leave space under the buttons for a palm rest.  How's the spacing, is this enough elbow room?

I'd say the admin buttons are too close to the play buttons and might get hit accidentally.

I'd bring down the controls an inch or two. Have you designed the artwork yet? Sometimes having the artwork helps determine where the buttons should go.

Are you going to use the player 1 as the shifted button? If so, I would consider putting the admin buttons closer together so you don't have to reach across them to exit a game.

You definitely need to bring the buttons and joysticks down a bit otherwise it just looks too crammed and you seem to have heaps of space to work with. I'd say drop it a couple of inches or so. I had to drop mine down about 40mm to get all the coin and player buttons on and i actually think i prefer it lower than having to reach to far over the control panel.

The reason they are so high is I wanted a comfortable place for my hand to rest. Do you need a palm rest area or do you hover mostly anyway?

If looks like you could put the controls in the middle of that CP and you'd still have plenty of space to rest your palms. You should go to an arcade and measure the distance of a game that feels comfy. My MK machine looks like it has about 7" before the joystick.

Moved it down a little and added some possible color.

Is the CP so wide to accommodate the cab, or will the CP overhang the cab?

What the full cab looks like:

It looks fine....though the following is running in my mind: you had the ability to make nice curves, yet didn't make the front 'corners' rounded. At least round the edges off. Thread title: "...before I start cutting..."

I tried it with rounded corners but it looked odd to me.

You might want to move player 2 over a little more.  The players might be bumming elbows
