Ultrastik 360 "grinding"
« on: June 15, 2011, 10:30:38 am »
So I received my two Ultrastick 360's via DHL yesterday (ordered them on Friday, received them here in Calgary on Tuesday...  Thanks Andy!). Yes the shipping was expensive, but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for and I am not complaining.  ;D

They seem like pretty solid devices from what I could gather from simply holding them in my hands and moving the stick around. Something that bothers me a bit which I'm not sure is normal, hence why I'm asking other forum members having these sticks: in certain directions it feels like there is some "grinding" to the stick. I'm not really sure how to explain it. The action in all directions is smooth, but in certain directions it feels like there's a metal-on-metal feedback on the stick. Both sticks exhibit the same behaviour.

It's very strange... has anyone ever experienced this with these sticks?  ??? Are all sticks like this (not just the U360's)? I would appreciate anybody's comments on this "issue" (note I'm saying "issue" because if it's not, then I will be happy with the U360's).

Thanks all!

I don't have one, but that sounds not good. Should be smooth all the way around.

Some sticks have tiny concentric machining marks on the flat surface of the white nylon spring bushing. These soon disappear with use.

Okay, thanks Andy... I am sure it will go away with use. Thanks for clarifying!  :D
