Ultrastik 360 not initializing at startup ?
« on: May 23, 2011, 05:01:32 pm »
I recently got two u360. I installed them and I managed to get them both work.

The problem is that everytime I turn off my cabinet and on again, the u360s stop working.  The buttons (input mode) work but moving the stick does nothing. I have to remap them (with UltraMap) so they work again. It seems it only happens when i shutdown the computer, not when i reboot it.

Is it normal ? How can i solve that ?

I found a post with the same issue http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=111466.0

I guess i will also use a .bat script at start up to initialize it. It still doesn't seem like a normal behavior...

That was my post.. Not sure why it was acting that way but the bat file is working flawlessly it pops up on the screen so fast you dont barely catch it and if you use something like autoit scripting then it can be ran hidden to not see it at all.

I'm guessing something with your USB recognition is the issue = PC-related.

Still...is Ultramap set up to look for each joystick? Are each set to a different device ID?

Actually, I saw this post but have been waiting for my registration. Now that Im finally registered, I can post my solution.

I had this same thing happen to me as well. However, I decided to try and downgrade the firmware to 2.3 and it worked! Everything came back at boot, without reprogramming. When Im on 2.5, it wont come back unless I reprogram a different map. It was the same for 2 different sticks.

Try this and let me know if it worked for you.

I would like to try that, but I like the shift keys of the last firmware. I will probably have to wait the next firmware. Anyway, now it works with my script at startup.

If you can drop me an email I think this is fixed in the latest version, which I can send.
