Light blue or Powder Blue joystick and buttons
« on: May 19, 2011, 08:06:38 am »
Hey, I'm looking to update the controls on my cabinet and I'm looking for matching light blue or powder blue buttons and joysticks. I looked at Happ Controls and from the pics their buttons do look like the color I want. However, I tried looking at TheRealBobRoberts but the buttons there are dark blue and they say they're from Happ Controls. This makes me hesitant to buy the buttons from Happ because I'm not sure if they'll be light or dark blue. Any tips on getting some light blue buttons and joysticks. I saw this color scheme on another cabinet and really liked it. Here is a pic of the color I need, and they need to be the long depth buttons. Thanks

Good buddy of mine is building a cab with that very colour. I believe he had a helluva time finding the light blue buttons, and ended up going with leaf switches. I'll shoot him an email and ask where he found them.
Mammy, why is everyone pointing at my cab and laughing?

I had the exact same issue myself. I ended up buying leaf switch buttons from The Real Bob Roberts to match the powder blue colour of the Sanwa joystick ball top. I wanted it all to match as close as possible to the light blue t-molding I was using. The Happs blue is way darker.

Groovy Game gear has some of their Classx buttons that look pretty close to what you're asking for.

Leedsfan, that's pretty close to the color I'm looking for, though I'd prefer the color of the pic I posted in that first pic. I spoke to someone from Happ on the phone and they assured me that the buttons were the same as in the pic on their site so I ordered a set. I've posted the pic from the site below. If they are dark blue instead of the color in the pic, I'm going to be pissed.

My pic may look a little dark there to be honest. Here is a link to Bob Roberts site with a pic of the leaf buttons he has available. The "Powder blue" are the buttons on my project which match the Sanwa ball top. The button immediately underneath (Medium blue) is much more like what the Happs blue is like.

Our blue Goldleaf buttons are the Sanwa powder blue color.

...so I ordered a set.

If you haven't gotten charged yet, be prepaired to pay out the nose for shipping.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.
