Looking for a certain type of leaf pushbutton...
« on: April 18, 2011, 11:47:53 am »
Would love to replace the old style leaf pushbuttons (player one/player two) on a Pac Man CP with the same type but with the P1/P2 little men images on them. I can find the new style switches with these graphics but not the old ones... anybody know if a supplier?
Completed projects: Pac bartop (Plug & Play), 30th Anniversary Pac cab (MAME), Point Blank (PS1), Centipede (arcade hardware- light restore), VS. Super Mario Bros (arcade hardware- light restore) Tetris Cocktail (SNES), Arcade Classics upright (60-in-1, then MAME), Multi-Raiden (arcade hardware). Pac Man vs.(Gamecube),

Working on: Pinball Re-theme, Homebrew arcade arena shooter

If you can't find buttons with these graphics, Pongo's vinyl stickers might work for you.  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=64645.0

you could print out some slide decals... then clearcoat the button maybe?

i know all this kinda defeats the purpose of the "leaf switch authenticity"... but :dunno

Great thanks for the suggestions-- its not a dealbreaker for the cab but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious!  ;D

You could just use the regular microswitch player buttons.  They are not authentic but since these are not active play buttons they would not suffer from being replaced with newer buttons.

To keep the authentic feel you could use the microswitch buttons as Bob has suggested... but also use the leafswitch adaptations that some people sell. I'm sure GGG sells them that can go onto a normal microswitch button. If you are in Europe then Arcadeshop.de sells them.
