Epic Fail Guy presents........ Star Wars Pachinko
« on: April 12, 2011, 04:24:40 pm »
From the man who brought you such classic epic fails as Track and Field, Punch-Out, and brown Joust, comes......

Star Wars Pachinko  ;D

Just look at the attention to detail.

EDIT: Bah, this was originally posted before I learned my lesson about always hosting the pics at BYOAC.  The ebay photos are long gone.
After several attempts, this is the best pic I've been able to find.  It's from a craiglist listing he had for it.
You can see nowhere near the detail of the glued on pictures that the original ebay pics had.  :'(

Phew! I thought there was something not quite retail about it, now I know its the lighting...

I like his pictures.  He didn't have to hire a pro to come out and take those for him, but he made the extra effort.  The picture of the walker was pretty important.  I couldn't tell from the overall picture, but from that one the high quality adhesive backed poly material used for installation really stands out!

This ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- just gets worse. What really gets me is that I don't care how ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- shape these things were before, they were most definitely worth more than they are after this gimp has touched them.

You can't polish a turd, but it appears you can throw glitter on it.

Hahah! I agree that does look like a piece of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. But it only sold for $39. I wouldn't be surprised if those Star Wars figures stuck on top were worth that. Then again I wouldn't know as I'm not a Star wars figure collector.

He probably traced (best case) or photo'd (worst case) a "real" pacman cabinet and put them in a PDF with the title "pacman plans".  That's all you need!

Excellent transaction. Exactly as described, great to deal with, a true pleasure

Also, it appears he sells alot of regular used arcade parts too.

Did you see his piece of wood with drawings on it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ARCADE-COCKTAIL-TABLE-TOP-PIECE-SELF-BUILDERS-LAX-/320684973099?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aaa505c2b

I think I should get a discount for the thinner pieces. Is that first one an oversized cutting board? $20 is a steal if it still didn't have last nights chicken giblets smeared all over it. YUM! Salmonella.

How can you sell those as a 'cocktail top panel' when it's not even cut? I've got some rubble kicking about, reckon I could list it as "2 bedroom semi - simply add mortar, 130 grand".

I wonder what house fire or dead neighbour he robbed that wood from?

That one actually isn't too bad; just re-do the marquee, chop down and put in a real control panel, then get a bigger screen...

I think a good, general rule of thumb for a truly, epic cab is that the margins on the bezel, when added together, should at least equal the width of the monitor.

How much extra does it cost to have a slim mini with a Xarcade control panel pre drilled?

Maybe you can market a new cabinet with that in mind.  ;)

Is there a reason why people don't just pull the tops off those x arcade controllers and mount the top to their own CP box?  It seems like more work went into completely enclosing the X Arcade, routing out for the pinball buttons, etc. than it would have been to just transplant. they are obviously capable, the cab doesn't look awful in terms of construction.   I saw somebody here refinished the top of their X arcade and it looked fine.

They are scared of wiring. They know they can do woodworking or at the very least re-do it if they screw up but they don't want to risk breaking their expensive controller. The same argument could be made as to why don't they just wire one up with an ipac, that is easier than transplanting an x-arcade.

The top transplant would mean they only had to unplug and replug the pinball buttons.  Or, are those things soldered inside?  Then they would have to butt splice wires requiring a stripper/crimper.  If they can use a router, navigate the interwebs and list on eBay . . . wow.

Oh well, off to the Pachinko parlor for some Star Wars action.

For something that is intended to show off the guts of a cab, you would think he took better pictures. Did you see the "rental unit" picture? Looks like Ben Hecks crap.

This one was listed on ebay for a long time and didn't sell.

He's backed off the picture cut-out/gluestick approach.
I think he's a member here and has cut back because of us busting on him.
I suspect someone, but I'm not very sure.
