Marquee Retainer

I've noticed a couple of folks using a marquee retainer that seems very slim to me.  The stuff I saw at HAPP seems thicker.  I noticed that the thinner marquee retainer and the thicker ones (like on Bella's) look very different.

Is this just an optical illusion?  Or, is there a thinner type of marquee retainer out there?

(BTW) I absolutely love Bella's arcade and will be using ideas from it to build my son's 3/4 scale cabinet.

Alot of people use aluminum angle as marquee retainer which is alot thinner than the HAPP stuff.. I have the hap stuff for mine.. but its WIP so hasnt gotten there quite yet..

Something else to keep in mind, the plastic retainer ages and can (not WILL) become brittle, depending on the climate and history of the machine.

This is what I used. It's actually aluminum bracket designed for suspended ceilings. The store I bought it from called it a "Suspended Ceiling J-Bracket"... I used a good pair of tin snips to cut a clean edge, and used a corner to fold it into a 90-degree. It looks good once painted, and it's terribly cheap...

It came in an 8-foot length, which was enough to do a test/rough mock up, and a final, clean one for my cabinet.

As with Eddie, I also used an aluminum angle but mine was from Home Depot. Easy to cut and paint/drill.
