Choosing which version of game to play
« on: March 15, 2011, 01:20:16 pm »
In my mame setup, I can pick and choose which version/revision of each game to play. In Mala it only gives me one option of each, how do I change the active version in mala?

Possibility:  Does your gamelist in Mala have clones turned off?  I know its an option if you use the Mala Game list creator program.  it may be an option in Mala setup as well.  Not near my system as usual but I will take a look tonight.

I do have clones turned off, but different versions of games aren't considered clones, are they? I imagine that clones are like obvious lookalikes and bootlegs. I'll give that a go turning it off.

I read somewhere that there's a version of Spy Hunter where it shows your armaments on screen, that's the only reason I was looking.

the way I use to check for parent/clone is to run Mameui32 and check the option to offset clones from parents or show them in a different color.  I was surprised and there are a good few clones that run but the parents don't.
