Good Buying Experiences
« on: September 30, 2010, 01:42:23 pm »
Sorry if this is not appropriate, but...

I just have to put in a shameless plug for The Playdium Store.  For the second time in about a week I've walked away from their parts desk with a freebie.  This time it was pcb mounting feet - they guy told me they don't stock those and instead of sending me on my way, he went and found some in their service dept, gave me the pack of 4 and said "free".  Now I realize this is not an expensive part anyway, but - the level of service and friendliness is fairly consistent there.  Last time he added several feet of t-molding free to my already discounted order.  I've found their prices are typically lower than posted on their website.  They stock a hell of a lot more than shown on their site.  And if they don't have it, they're happy to order it for you, or help you find it elsewhere.  They are also MAME friendly, stocking parts for builders like those no-mech coin doors, I-Pacs, etc.

And of course, you are encouraged to stay and play anything in their large showroom - all set on free-play (pins, vids, chexx, etc).

If you're in the area (Toronto) and need stuff - highly recommended.

Btw, please don't start a stampede for free pcb feet, their friendly demeanour may suddenly change.  :)

No comments about the store, but I did have a great time with the family a few years back at their Mississauga location.

Playdium and the store are not the same thing. Just the same ownership.

NO MORE!!
