Fight Club 360 Bartop (Fight Club serial Plate pic)
« on: February 18, 2013, 05:11:29 pm »
Just wanted to announce my latest build, I call it "Fight Club 360".
Bartop has a jtagged xbox 360 inside with a samsung 17inch monitor
and two PS3 360+ motherboards, sanwa sticks, LED buttons and xbox 360 inserts.
The reason for the name is that I just wanted fight games installed, although Mame did make the cut.
Here are some earlier pics of the build. I've actually been working on it for a while and decided against starting a new project thread, figure that would get me motivated to finishing it, well I guess it worked, it's 98% done.
Let me know what you think.
Just want to thank Snaake for the marquee work and Jtagged xbox, as well as Unstupid for the button inserts.

Hey TonyUK,
I used one of those Under-Cabinet Fluorescent Fixtures, everything is hooked up to a smart strip so everything goes on/off with the xbox 360.

Looks something like this:

I really love the marquee on this thing, Snaake you did an awesome job!! I'm taking the bartop to PA this weekend for a family get together. We'll see how it holds up.

I'm finally back after a 2.5 year hiatus (kids!) but I have a question that's not immediately apparent to me from the photos;
How are you combining the PC/monitor AC plugs into one AC outlet on the back of the cab? I've been looking at automotive 12v LCD monitors so that I can tie into the PC's PSU directly, but I'd love to use a normal desktop LCD monitor.
And how do you deal with using a consumer desktop LCD, you have to turn it on/off separately from the rest of the cab or does it auto detect input and turn on automatically?

The jack on the back is usually listed under "power entry module" on amazon, fleabay, etc.
It's usually wired to a "smart power strip" that turns everything else on when the computer starts pulling juice.
Most people just hack the plug off the power strip and solder it to the jack.
Some people install a household outlet on the other side of the inlet.

Most computer monitors turn on automatically when the pc turns on.
If it doesn't, they hack the on button so it's always being pushed.

Welcome back Saloonstudios,
yeah kids have a way of making projects take a backseat. BadMouth is correct, I'm using a smartstrip, power entry module with a hacked plug. I'll take some pictures when I get home.

Here are the plug, smartstrip and jack pictures.
1st pic shows the connector.
Third picture shows the cut cord from the smartstrip and where it connects to.

Also bartop measures 24 inches in height and 22 at the longest curve at the bottom.
CP measures 22 x 7 and 1/4.

I decided to build a stand/shelf for my fight club 360. I know most of you disapprove of a stand for a bartop (why not build a full upright...) but where are you suppose to place your bartop, kitchen table?  ::)

Also fixed up the "Man Cave". Painted ceiling, walls, replaced carpet and build a projection screen (not just a white sheet with thumbtacks) I'm really happy with the way it turned out, (although every now and then I have to pull the carpet back cause water still creeps in )

 :blah: :blah:
Here are the pics.

Yeah, monkeychunkuk I know it's a bit small for my setup but that just leaves room for more builds.   :applaud:

Just noticed that I never took a pic of the plate for my build. Got the one and only CoryBee to do this for me a while back. It turned out so well that I decided to place it in the front of the bartop.

Thanks CoryBee (wherever you are..  ;))
