how do you transport your cabs?
« on: September 10, 2010, 12:08:23 am »
Apparently, in a car!

I just got given a japanese cabaret cabinet, destined to become "princess pink's arcade machine"... sure as can be, my echo was able to haul it home!
Ok, the fit is tight, but who'd have tought you could fit a videogame arcade cabinet in a 4-door car?

Based on the design, I'm not surprised - there's no upper marquee area. Most models in our range have been taken home by customers in nothing much bigger than a large hatchback, owing to both our compact designs and a bit of creative loading. One guy did seriously mis-judge his car though and ended up making a 150 mile trip home with nearly half the cabinet sticking out the boot and the boot lid precariously tied down with a bit of blue string!

My cab did fine leaving my old house and being transported in my buddies enclosed trailer.  The problems started trying to get it up to my second floor condo with a narrow staircase that does a tight 180 degree turn half way up.  Geeze what a fight that was.  But it's home safe now.

Do you have to hire 3 or 4 WWE wrestlers to move that cabinet?

The farthest I've ever transported mine has been from my garage to my basement.

God I love that cab. Never even seen one in real life. It makes me happy in the pants just knowing they exist...  :notworthy:
Pictures are overrated anyway.

I'm more intriqued as to if it was put in the home prior to completing the exterior walls, dismantled to fit through doors, or if there are barn sized doors to allow it to fit?  I hurt my back over the weekend moving a regular sized cabinet to the basement.  I can't image how much that thing weighs and how to move it.

And to answer the original question...I transport mine on their back in the bed of my F150.  No issues with room there....but I haven't done any larger / heavier than a Dynamo Z Back (it is still in the F150 though).
