I was thinking of others who may see this thread (nobody in particular) who want to browse for a gutted cabinet to MAME. Unless he's already going to be there, it's not worth his time for $25.
Smart idea. I'm sure if we had a number of people interested, and if he was up for it, it would be a nice outing. Hell, bill it as that and make it worth his while - come in to buy for the negotiated price, or else, come in to
browse for $5 a head... That's what I'd like to do, if only for the nostalgia, since I know I couldn't give a dedicated cab the home (or the resto) it deserves.
What if we propose a "BYAOC" GT to visit the site, and put people into one of two groups. Interested in buying vs. just looking. If everybody paid an 'entry fee' to check it out, at least he isn't out of pocket. If we had 10-20 people there, there's a better chance that someone might actually take something home. Also, some people don't have a vehicle available (we've all seen/been the guy "if only I had a truck!") so if we were there, someone might be able to make a deal to 'deliver' the purchases in the local area.
I'm just thinking out loud here, but what do you guys think?
