WTB Single piece control panel (Boston MA)
« on: August 08, 2010, 07:32:03 pm »
Hey all. A while back I purchased an old cab that has Killer Instinct installed. I plan on repainting and putting in new controls and monitor. My only problem is the control panel.

I am looking to buy a control panel for the cab. I already have the replacement controls, just looking for a single piece of wood with the joystick and button holes drilled in.

The single piece of wood I need is 9 inches high by 23 inches wide and is 1 inch thick.

These are the controls I own that are going in.  http://cgi.ebay.com/KILLER-INSTINCT-JOYSTICKS-JAMMA-ARCADE-WKS-W-MAME-TM_W0QQitemZ380169006335QQihZ025QQcategoryZ13718QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ht_3709wt_1142

Please respond here or to rabidfool@gmail.com with offers. My main hangup is cutting out the joystick's with a router. :(

Are you sure you need one inch thick for the control panel? That seems too thick. Most panels are either 5/8" or 3/4" thick. Home Depot sells 1/2" and 3/4" MDF - I would go that route and make your own. If you truly need 1" you could glue and clamp two 1/2" pieces together.

Also - you don't cut joystick holes with a router, you use a 1 1/8" drill bit. For the best job, get a forstner bit, for the best price, get a flat wood boring bit.

Its really is easy, if you already have some basic tools, a drill, a circular saw, a jig saw, all you'll need is the wood ($6.50), a good hole saw (~$10.00), Slot Cutter for TMolding (~$25.00), some sand paper ($5.00) and a few hours.  You can have someone make you one, but it'll never be quite what you wanted.  I made my first Control Panel a few months ago and at the time I had no wood working skills, but it easy to puck up.

I believe he means as far as recessing the bottoms so the sticks are longer up top, not the hole itself

Stay away from milkit. He gave me a quote plexi included. A week later he wants more money for plexi and when I point out that was included in the original price he drops off the face of the earth. No longer responds to emails. Scammer.

You are full of it. I also haven't dropped off the face of the earth or stop responding to your emails. You last email was Thu, Aug 26, 2010 at 6:48 PM, i replied at Fri, Aug 27, 2010 at 7:01 AM. also, you took a week to send payment. It wasnt sent until the 15th, 2 weeks ago for a custom made piece and you are already leaving negative feedback and talking trash even after you told me no rush.

I gave you payment on the 15th for a panel that included plexi. On the 20th you emailed me asking to pay more if I wanted plexi included. I emailed you several times and did not hear back from you until the 27th.  Your only response to me in a week and a half after asking for more money was "Driving, will expand on email later, but its already shipped." You have not answered emails, you have not provided a tracking number nor have I received the panel you claim to have shipped. You have been active on these boards during this time.

That statement leads me to believe you have not shipped it, let alone begin to make it. Pics? Tracking number? ANYTHING?

your right, it hasnt shipped bc i forgot about plexi as I already said. i emailed you about it, you said you thought that was included, i looked back at emails and sure enough thats what I said, and that was it. i ordered some plexi because I was out, took a couple days and I was busy with other things as well. As you said, you were in no hurry. I have not ignored emails or pm's.Last email I ever got from you was last thursday which I replied to friday morning. If thats not good enough, then screw you. I finished it up last night and planned to ship today then I saw this and the paypal dispute from yesterday. So like I said, build your own CP with the money I will refund. I will throw it in the trash.

What a joke. You didnt respond in time. You responded after 7 days of emails and when I stated I would dispute the charges you send "Driving, will expand on email later, but its already shipped." And that was the last response after four more emails too! Now when I call you on it and dispute it you realize "oops I didn't ship it yet." Your negative trader feedback is warranted as you have been lieing and I still don't have an item. You leave me negative because I paid you and expect the item?

i left you a negative because instead of communicating with me, you not only filed a paypal claim but also left me negative. You are a bad buyer. You order something that is custom made, said you didn't need it quickly, then go nuts on me when its been 14 days for a custom piece. I emailed YOU last. You weren't emailing me and getting no response. You weren't trying to work anything out, ask status, nothing.

I am done with you and this thread, you can have your refund and built a CP yourself and I will take pics of the one I made sitting in my trash can tonight.

If you had answered emails and stayed in touch I would have been understanding about a delay. You asked for more money and refused to answer emails for seven days. Then you claim it shipped. When I still don't have the item and file a dispute and post here you finally respond to me. Originally you still claim you shipped, but then back track and admit you didn't ship. Still waiting on that refund too.

No problem.

I am still looking to buy. Could we lock this and I will create a new thread?
