Feeling cab fever again!
« on: June 06, 2010, 07:16:16 pm »
So, I've been laying low for a long time...then, went down to my basement a couple days ago. I have the shell of a Lucid/Saint style cabinet all cut out and just waiting to be routed, painted and assembled. The madness has crept back into my brain. MUST...BUILD...CAB..........

:-) I'm almost scared to find out what new toys are available for cab building now!

There are no new toys. We're all still putting in hacked keyboards, joypads and mice in our cabs. Some of us even assemble our own custom controls by carving them out of wood.

Nope, nothing at all. Move along, nobody engineered new Star Wars yokes. There are no USB controllers taking the place of hacked joypads and keyboards. No new steering wheels or spinners.

;D Except that I see there are still no reproduction vector monitors and the ZVG is still discontinued...I may have to go back into cryogenic sleep for a while  :lol

That's strange, I've been researching mini PCs for my wife's new computer and started thinking about building a nice, small portable cab.  I popped back on here today to check out nano and pico ITX cab projects and see what other fun new toys were out there...and I find this...

It's too bad about the Star Wars yokes though...and lighting controls and such.

There are 10 types of people out there...those that understand binary, and those that don't.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.
