several questions from a newbie

I'm getting ready to build my first arcade cabinet and have been doing a lot of research, but still have some questions. I am planning to build my own cabinet and install one of the multi-game Jamma PCB boards. I'm a bit confused about what makes up the inner workings of the cabinet. The understand the PCB board, monitor, light for marquee, and control panel (buttons & joysticks). I'm not sure what else is needed to get everything working? Help!

if you are going to use a JAMMA Board you would need a JAMMA Harness as well.  I dont have any experience with the xxxx-n-1 board except what I have read here, but i think they have several video out puts and use a standard PC power supply.  I think a better alternative could be to just use a PC (if you have one laying around or cheaply availible) becuase you  are limited less on what options you have.

I was also originally going to go with a xxxx in 1 board for my cabinet that I am working on. Then I did a little more digging and decided using a PC would be way better in the long run. With the PC I can use a custom front end, build my control panel any way I want it, emulate far more than just arcade games, (NES, Super nintendo, N63, Sega consoles, atari, etc) and this way I get only the games I know I want to play. the xxxx in 1 boards have just those games on them and many of the games I have never even heard of. So I got a PC off ebay for 20 bucks and am using that with MAME, Atomic FE, and various other emulators for console games. This way i will have all my old favorites available any time I want them
