major led blinky issue, help!
« on: May 01, 2010, 05:02:43 pm »
i have a GGG led-wiz running my led buttons with led blinky and maximus arcade FE.

if i just run mame, games work perfect.

if i unplug the led wiz, games run perfect in maximus.

if i use the led wiz + front end, i cant play games properly. after a few seconds the video starts to lag and studder BADLY. even on pacman!

its a dual core athlon II x2 255 with 2gb ram, no reason it should lag on pacman.

I cant seem to figure out the problem. Bad led-wiz maybe? any ideas?

Use Windows Taskmanager to check which app/process is using the most CPU cycles - that will help narrow down the problem.

You could also turn on the LEDBlinky Debug and Verbose options and email me the debug.zip file - I'll check if blinky is working as expected.

it was being caused by the "Front End -> Button Flash" option i discovered. Tried all diff flash speeds. Literally made games unplayable yet there was no bump in cpu usage or anything

Hmm - the button flash feature should only be active when the FE is active - not when playing a game. If you turn on debug and verbose and button flash and send me the debug.zip I should be able to fix the problem.

I just did a quick test with button flash and MA on my rig and it worked as expected - no lag when playing Asteroids. But I'm sure you're using a different combination of settings so I'll need to see the log.
