Multiple mame cabs networked for gameplay?
«

I haven't even started building my first one [well I made a bartop cab as a prototype out of scraps just to test my woodworking skills that turned out great... but was made out of scraps so went to the dump] and already I'm thinking of number 2. Is it possible to link mame cabinets up to run simultaneously? For example racing games that require multiple cabs for head-to-head play? After a quick search I was unable to come up with anything.

Sure... NetPlay... Netplay should run great since youll be on a LAN. You can one be the server with the router and switch in it and the second be the client and it connnects to the first. Or you could have them all connect to your homes central router and switch.

Netplay is possible with Kaillera. The MAMEdevs don't like Kaillera for whatever reason. As a result, Saint may not want it discussed on BYOAC in detail. You should be able to find plenty of info online if you google "Kaillera".

Boo I was hoping this was emulated in mame. I use a mame/mala setup. I figured it might be since mame is emulating the hardware as well as games.
