I picked this up for free, it was painted red and converted to a Mr. Do's Castle:

Doesn't look like any of these (that curve isn't there), though it does have the marquee area slant...

Think it might be worth trying to save?

Think it might be worth trying to save?

The shape alone, to me, says YES. You need to figure out what this originally was.

Looks like Barrier .

Which kinda looks like Guitar Hero's grand-daddy.

**edit**: Ha-ha, I take the Guitar Hero comment back:

Exciting gameplay.  ::)
No harm in Maming this bad-boy up.  :lol

**edit #2**
It's almost the same cabinet, but from a side-by-side comparison it's not exactly the same. It's close though:

The Barrier's marquee area is shorter, the "bow" in the curve doesn't have exactly the same contour, and the angle of the top-back doesn't have as much of a decline. Oh well, I tried  :dunno

Wow, it's amazing that after so many years being an arcade fan, new unheard of games still manage to pop up.  Thanks Opt2not

So I looked up other Vectorbeams... Could it be Warrior?

Unless its the angle, it still looks a little different to me. The Warrior cab goes flat at the sides of the control panel area, the cab he's looking to identify does not. Also, the marquee area goes slightly back instead of forward on the mystery cab.

At first glance, I thought it was Lethal Enforcers, but comparing them to the pics on KLOV, its way off.

Agreed, the marquee sides are both straighter and longer on his cab than either of those...nice mystery.

Vectorbeam sold its assets to Cinematronics...could it be this one?  The marquee sides look the same length...not as short as the other two.  Even the bolts to the side of the CP seem to match.

Yeah, I always love playing it. I've been the guy to get it first a few times, but couldn't do it on this one. Better luck next time, I guess.

I think it would be worth it to restore it just from the point of view that it was one of Cinematronics last vector games. You can still get restored vector monitors.

That is what I would do, but it's your cab

Hmmm, I may just try to sell it.  I was never into arcades (being born in 87 I sorta missed the boom) but always love Mortal Kombat though.

Lol agreed  :whap

But at least you are recognizing the sale potential as opposed to hurting this weathered cab further ;)

You got it for free so try and sell it to a collector now that you know what it is and use the $$ to put towards a scatch build or some other cab.

To be honest, this doesn't look like that good a candidate for MAME'ing anyway.  The CP would either require cutting the front of the cab to shreds or else one so small and cramped, it would only be a 1 player cab anyway.  If you can find a local collector, you might be able to trade that one for a better candidate in better shape!

Lol, agreed.  I was just born a little too late to fully appreciate them.  When I got home tonight I check the back of the cab and it is in fact Cinimatronics, don't know what I didn't check that first.  I am currently working on a Midway inspired mame cab right now, kinda stuck on the 4 player cp though.

VERY rare game. The odds of being able to find all, or any of the parts to restore is too low.

Does that mean rare cabinets aren't worth trying to save?  Isn't that somewhat counter intuitive?

The shell of the cab is just plywood.

If you had the board you might have a chance to save it.
