I am planning my next cab, jpac users perhaps you can give me some good advice
I have a avga card already
I am going to wire my new cab jamma
I want to be able to easily switch (in under 10 seconds) between mame and jamma game boards by powering down and just swapping the harness connectors off of the jamma board onto the jpac and back and forth as I have several original jamma boards I want to run in this game.
My first question is power related
I want to wire the cab jamma, I would then have power coming through the harness to supply the jamma boards here lies my question
I read the faq's and install guide for the jpac and it states
"
But my JAMMA cabinet DOES have a power supply.
Most cabinet power supplies will not function unless a game board is connected, owing to insufficient load. It is best to remove the power supply completely as the J-PAC does not need any power. All power comes from the keyboard or USB interface"I don't want to do it that way cause I want to have jamma harness power available when I switch over for a jamma game board
Any suggestions on how to conquer (wire) this? without blowing up or frying the jpac
I really don't want to run 2 separate harness for this set up, neatness counts for this next project
