Newest trackball games?
« on: March 15, 2010, 12:27:30 am »
So my friends aren't really into classics.  So i am looking into the newest games that utilize the trackball.  Mame runs golden tee 2k which is ok, but with systems like the ps3 and 360 they want better graphics.  I've loaded tiger woods 07 and elf bowling (ughhhh )  I am trying to find the best graphics games in the following categories.  Golf, bowling, putt putt, shuffleboard, maybe even darts.  Ideas?

Let them play their crappy consoles.

Or better yet, get new friends.  ;D

Seriously though, just open up any program that sorts mame's listxml and sort by year, then weed out the trackball games.  You'll be looking for games made after 99' so it shouldn't be hard to do manually.

BUT let me save you the trouble... unless you count vector games, there are ZERO  hi-def games in mame.  Even if by some chance one has slipped in, the game would be so new and the driver so demanding that it wouldn't play on any current system.

That being said, World Class Bowling, The Simpsons Bowling and ShuffleShot are probably the newest trackball games in mame and have the best looking graphics.  There aren't any better golf/putt putt games in mame than golden tee.

I'd go with the new Freinds (this time pick the ones that like the classics)  :P

If they're only concerned with the graphics and nothing else then they really aren't as in to video games as they think they are.    Don't even bother trying to impress them with MAME.
