Arcade Overdose cabinet
« on: December 12, 2009, 01:34:59 am »
Hi guys,

This was my first arcade project, called "Arcade Overdose." I learned a ton and had a lot of fun with this project, and I must give props to where they are due for this great site and all you helpful people for your advice and great ideas

Since this is my first project, I wanted to go all out and make it as cool as possible, it's 2-player, with trackball, 26" lcd monitor, RGB illuminated buttons, hidden drawer with illuminated keyboard, top 4/8 switchable joysticks. It's had a few hiccups in the process, but I'm overall I'm really pleased with the turnout. It's still a work-in-progress, I'm still working on setting up the computer still need to have the side art printed (when I'm a little less poor). Anywho, here's a few pics:

There's a few more pics of the building process if anyone is interested at: http://www.meaninglessmilestones.com/tinkerings/tinkerings.html
Cheers,
Matt

Cool theme. It's got a new-"old school" tattoo kind of feeling to it..  :applaud:

Sweet! Totally dig the Mario and Luigi skulls on the CP for sure. Like Bender asked, I'd also like to see the side art image. Good luck with future tweaks and progress!

Thx for the sweet compliments fellas! I had a lot of fun doing the artwork, here's a pic of the sideart, I'm hoping that after Christmas is over I will be able to save up enough to have them printed and I will finally be done.....and on to the next project   ;)

For me, one of the most well designed cabs posted on this messageboard - both the cp and the sideart are ridiculously well done.

Great projects.   The cab, mini cab and portable show great attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship.  Your cabs have a look of their own.  The artwork is outstanding.  :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

Awesome artwork my friend, I really like it.  It reminds me of the work of Shepard Fairey who does all the OBEY artwork.   Obey meets classic arcade, a slick combo.
