Well to tell you the truth it's about 97% percent finished, but here goes...
I started the thing almost two years ago. The games are run via mame but I can also connect an Xbox360 which was especially important to me as all the super awesome arcade shooters were released on the Xbox. I mainly play those, which is why the monitor's tilted (you can tilt it back, though). Did the artwork myself, used Metal Slug motives but tried to give the whole thing a darker, more menacing look.
Specs:
- lame-ass Samsung laptop
- Seimitsu LS-32-01 (for precise movements in shmups)
- white Sanwa 32mm & transparent Seimitsu 32mm buttons (all of them are lighted with LEDs connected to a PacDrive)
- hacked PS1 and Xbox pads
- 20" 4:3 screen (as big as I could get, from 21" upwards it's 16:9 or similar)
- cheap old pair of PC speakers
(Sorry for the crappy pics, I don't have a digicam)

As for the LCD screen, maybe one day I'll get myself a scanline generator for that true old school look but for now I'm satisfied with the scanline filter options mame offers.
There are money smaller and a couple of bigger flaws, but it was the first machine we built and we were on a budget (we even used OSB, fancy that). It's still the best video game machine I have ever had, the angle of the screen, the button config, everything that has to do with gameplay is just perfect.
Cheers everyone on the forum and especially Saint for his fantastic book, you're a bunch of helpful guys.
Coming up next: my mini Donkey Kong bartop... let's hope this won't take another two years to finish...
