mini mame/jukebox
« on: November 25, 2009, 03:32:30 am »
So I have this eeepc 901 that I installed a touch screen on and modded into a tablet pc, I no longer use it so its been sitting for about a year unused now I want to turn it into a mini mame cab/jukebox.

here is the idea

The box in the middle is where the eee and 320gb usb hdd is the other 2 are going to act like docks the eee has 2gb of ram and over clocked to 900mhz

For the jukebox just pop the eee in the top for software I plan to use album player or xlobby 2.
The arcade cab is going to have joystick and 9 buttons 7 player buttons, 1 player start and coin also a rotating screen(just take the eee out of the back of the cab and put it in sideways)

Pretty nifty for novelty purposes, though I predict for practicality the size/shape of the cabinet, although authentic-looking, may dwarf the system. Maybe something styled more like the 'tabletop arcade' games back in the day (think astro wars, scramble or firefox) may work better, or something like dizney's project.
