Hey everyone, I want to get Street Fighter 4 running in my cab (my computer running my cab was built for this in mind), but i don't want to wast 40 dollars on the game (already have it for xbox 360) and have it look terrible on my wells gardner 25k7191, 25" monitor?  Has anyone tried SF4 in 640x480 at 15hz on an older style monitor like mine?  What would be a good monitor choice for SF4 that plays all of the mame games good as well as SF4?  Some kind of 25" multisync maybe(an examples?) I also can't play a lot of the older vert. shooters on the wells (screen is to small and can't find a good enough resolutions), would a multisync help with this as well?

What resolution was SF4 designed for ?
That's what it will look best at.
A K7000 will most likely not be what you're looking for then.... A multisync would help if you want to play that new of a game AND classics.

I also can't play a lot of the older vert. shooters on the wells (screen is to small and can't find a good enough resolutions)

Keep playing with the MAME settings then...... because you should be able to play those at native resolutions at full size as they were on most 19" monitors.

it will look really bad, this is the type x2 based game which is meant to run on a minimum 31khz and was actually designed to run on the later lcd cabs

we had this running on wei ya tri syncs and it looked very good at 31khz

Just try the SF4 benchmark tool. :)

http://file.4gamer.net/demo/StreetFighterIV_Benchmark.zip

It's the exact same result, it's free, but you can't actually play. You can adjust and change all the options, including resolution low as 640x480 or 800x600. Personally, I play the game with setting on mid/high, but in 640x480. The image is really great. I have a WG9810 that do both resolutions.

So i tried this on my 7191 at 15hz, actual game, and it looks good actually......now don't get me wrong it isn't hd, and it doesn't look like my 50" samsung hdtv either, but it looks like an older version of street fighter with newer graphics if that makes sense?  I was playing at 720x480, all textures and everything maxed out, and looks good (my pc runs it flawless). So i think for now i'm just going to keep my current monitor, my mame games look really good on this monitor, and i can't justify spending 500 dollars on a new monitor right now for just one game, but maybe when this one blows up i can talk my wife into it?  ;)

Yeah I think it looks pretty good too.

If your monitor is working properly it will look as good as the Xbox 360 version playing on a SDTV at 480i through component inputs.

The interlacing is only apparent when you are are looking at windows.  In-game it's not noticeable.
