Robotron bartop CP help please
« on: October 12, 2009, 06:21:01 am »
I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Illustrator and had a play around with the Robotron CP image available at localarcade.com....

I basically want to make a smaller version of this CP to something like 395mm wide. My monitor is that width so that dictates the smallest width of the CP then I can scale everything down to that. But of course I have to keep the joysticks a reasonable distance apart so the game still plays nice. I won't be able to have them at 10" apart like the original but so long as they aren't too close it should be fine.

Anyway... I'm a total n00b with these art packages and they seem waaaaaaaay too complicated for me. I came up with this so far (see attachment). (I can't even get Illustrator to display the image at a size I want (395mm wide) so I can see how far the sticks would be in my image.   :dunno

In my work I just got rid of the blue and grey bits behind the joystick placements and moved each stick and it's respective decals outwards a little. I also got rid of one or two of those yellow card/light images to make space. What I'm after is a file that I can send off to an art printer like Scott at Mamemarquees that he can just print from. I don't mind paying a few $s or £s to someone who can help ofc as this is quite a professional piece of software I'm messing with.  ;)
