Erf.  When I was working at the student union at UMass one of the dishwashers showed up to work high.  He decided it would be fun to lay on the conveyor belt and go through the industrial dishwasher.  You could probably hear him screaming a mile away while he got splashed with near boiling water and steam before someone figured out how to turn the thing off.

HAHAHAH!!! Isn't an industrial dishwasher at around 200 degrees? I know my home dishwasher gets up to around 180 during the sanitary cycle. It's so hot that I can't handle the dishes until they've cooled off for a while.

Yeah, not to mention that the cleaning solution used in those is pretty unfriendly to skin...

Yeah, but given the condition and age of that particular machine, I wouldn't be surprised if it was 220 or more.  Dude was injured pretty badly.  Never did see him again or hear about him.  Dumbass.

Ah, one of those old fashioned steam dishwashers...  Or is this a 220, 221, whatever it takes kind of deal?
But wasn't it fun to think you won the lottery, just for a second there???

It's more like a 50 year old monster that hasn't been serviced since before the students using it were born.  We couldn't put some of the plastic plates in there because they would come out twisted up.  I'm sure it didn't START that way but who knows if the thermostats are even present anymore.

My point was that water boils at 212.  Apparently I overthought it.

Water rich with impurities (soap) could go hotter too!

Heh, and when I said 220, I was thinking boil was 232 for some reason anyway.

I love getting questioned by the sort of guy who fakes food bank donations.   :laugh2:
