They stole my stuff - but now I'm back

So.... It's nice to be back on the forum after a forced small break.

I've mentioned before that I work about 120 miles from home, so I spend many hours on the road (it's 2-3 hours each way). A couple of weeks ago I stopped to grab something to eat on my way home and some little scrota smashed out the back window of my car, forced his way into my boot and stole my laptop, eBook reader, harmonica, prescription glasses and a memory stick that I thought were safely locked away out of harms way.

I rely on having a laptop for my job, so I have now received my replacement from the insurance money (after reluctantly paying the £325 insurance excess that I REALLY couldn't afford).

Losing my laptop has been really bad for me. I lost all my sketchup plans for my cab & the control panel, I lost my music collection, MAME, personal photo's etc. I'm gutted. Its even worse that until a few days before it happened I had a backup of all my data that got screwed, so I really have lost it all despite keeping a backup.

Losing my eBook and harmonica have made the time away from home even less enjoyable than it was already.

The only time in my entire life I have ever left my laptop unattended and some git robs me. Why couldn't they have robbed someone who could afford the loss? Bah!

So... Looking up, I am back on the forum. Nice to be back, albeit a little worse off than the last time I was here.

That really sucks man.
I would have to be starving to death before I would even think to do something like that, and I mean starving for food, not drugs, which was probably what that scrot was wanting.
