New coin door keys?
« on: July 06, 2009, 11:40:43 am »
A buddy of mine got lucky several years ago and has 5 machines in his basement that he got from an arcade liquidation.  All of them had been cored for the same key and over the weekend one of his kids managed to snap a key off in one of the mechs.  Getting the key piece out isn't an issue, but ow hard is it to get another key made?  Can he just take it to home depot and get one cut?

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

That's good but he has one key left.  Can't he just have it copied.

I'm sure he can.  Did you try that first?

Who makes the lock?  Sometimes you can contact the manufacturer and get new keys.  Key probably has a number on it.

I was under the impression there was only one key and it broke. Forget what I said.
