Hey SNAAAKE...
I really would like to see a pic of the insides onf one of these...
Do you hinge the top, or just screw it down?
Do you use a terminal strip, or just wire PS points directly to the buttons?
It's definately looking like you're the local "expert" on stand alone PS control boxes.

Another Question... Do the PS controllers work with PS2???
I don't have either, but I have a few friends with PS2s.

Also, have you ever tried to hack the analogs into a CP???
Just curious...
I'm not a freak!...
Oh wait...
Yes I am...

Yes will take a pic when I wire em up tonight.
No hings.just tacks.
No terminal strip(waste of money).
I use digital pads and works with ps2 as well.

Never hacked analog.

all psx pads will work with ps2s, its the same pin input.  The one hacked psx analog job that sticks out in my mind is M3talslug's work with his 2 player control panel.  http://tobywong.50megs.com/   Very nice artwork, two ikari warriors joysticks hacked to analog psx controllers, and works with Druin's interface, and the joysticks are hooked up to the d-pad plus an i-pac.  Very very nice composition on the entire box as well.
btw, snaaaake, dont tell me that stick was for GoukiGirl... damn she's annoying, looks like your enterprise is growing though.

Not trying to be annoying (But I'm sure I am... ::))
PS controllers have 4 main buttons & 4 "top" buttons (L1,L2,R1,R2)...
What layout are you using for your 6 buttons?

Maybe since I don't have a PS2 I'm missing something, but it seams like
you'd be leaving out some critical functions if you left out buttons.
(Or at least make it really hard to play some games...)

Then again, the only games I've played on PS2 are the FPSers like Nightfire & Splinter type games.
These controllers would seem to be useless with these games (no analog)...

What games are played with these controllers most? (I'm assuming mostly Fighting games, but I'm really curious).

Again, sorry for the "20 questions", these are just things I've pondered & have yet to figure out.
Thanks!

None of the fighters or shmups on PS, XBox, GC use more than 6 buttons.

Some people seem to want to play FPS and other things on their arcade cabinets.. but that just silly. It's the completely wrong interface.

Most fighters use 6 buttons.
I am leaving out L2 and R2.
you dont use a joystick to play splinter cell...duh ::)

these are ONLY for fighters...like marvel vs capcom 2.

There's nothing more tedious than being offended for other people. If there are any Japanese here who take offence then talk up. I don't think the abbreviation 'jap' is innapropriate.

I'm Irish and you can call me whatever you like.

The Magneto artwork came out nicely. Nice work Snaaake.

You know what, I have lots of friends from that area (all over) and I don't think they'd be nearly as easy to offend as that.  They toss around all kinds of racial crap, sometimes even seem to enjoy their stereotypes.  One of 'em made up a rap about white rice.  They all know people won't really assume anything about them on a personal level based on that stuff.

"Japs" is what we called them when we were trying our best to kill them in WWII.  That's why it's derogatory.  But, I don't think whoever posted that was thinking along those lines at all.  Just a coincidence people!

Besides, an invention called the "transistor" wouldn't have gotten off the ground if one of their teams hadn't picked it up and figured out a way to use it commercially.  The company that did invented the transistor radio, and was called Sony.  Ain't nobody here gonna honestly diss the Japanese for thinking outside the box!
