That makes sense, I've noticed that every once in awhile there is a guy selling pinball machines in St. Jacob.  I think the last one I noticed was a Xenon he had for sale awhile back.  When he's done have him come over to my house - on your dime of course - and replace my broken plastic backplate and replace all my rubbers for me.

You know, I havent even played VND yet.  Maybe one day  :dunno

Get that ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- fixed

I have had about 4 or 5 replies on that ad so far, there's help out there if you want to pay. But 5 miles away is way convenient for me.

Well the death star target fix is now completed so the machine is up and running again.  Hopefully if my bulbs come in by Saturday I can spend Sunday replacing rubbers and bulbs.  I bought a mix of white and blue LEDs to place in general illumination areas so hopefully that turns out nice.  I'll post pics when completed.

FIXED:  Now witness the power of this fully armed and operational battle station.

Geez LL, that misquote almost makes me think your not worthy enough to play SW DE.  You may fire when ready.

Ive got a bad feeling about this....

On another note I installed 2 MASSIVE poker table style cup holders on my surfboard I mean control panel. Bought Ultimarc's Tornado style spinner top & flyweight too (had to bore em out tho to fit on my GGG spinner). Been working on the MAME a lot lately, finally after 2 years or so its getting the finishing touches &/or a redo of what could have been better. I put 1 liter bottles in the CP so you can gain a perspective of the cup holder size

SO where are those LED pics Flakeness?

Thats pretty sweet.....if there is one thing a good control panel needs is an adequate supply of cup holders.

Hey, I dont even have the damn LEDs from Pinballlife yet.  I think they will show up on Saturday and hopefully I'll get time on Sunday to install them.  Saturday me and the wifey will either be going to Fast Eddies or a winery in Carlyle so no pinball shopping will done that day  ;D

I do love spending Sat afternoons getting boozed up!  Should I be posting this in that non-drinkers thread?  >:D

BTW - What kind of joysticks do you have PBW?

looks awesome, but once your wife pops out a couple of kids, you'll regret having those so close to your controls. Kool-aid + microswitches = headaches.

---fudgesicle--- yea its broke already.  And I cant find the replacement part anywhere online.  I've tried Pinball Life, Marco, Bay Area....etc.  It seems to be a more obscure part.

Try not. Do or do not, there is no try.

Caution, rant

Its 1:02 am & ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- isnt well @ the pdub house

So my monitor started slightly "breathing" a year ago but I can live with that since it goes away after being powered on for a while, thats ok right?

But my original MAME rig wasnt powerful enough to run hyperspin = bummer but I will "make due" with what I have right?

Then 3 capacitors popped on my motherboard causing shut downs now & then so I had no choice but to build a new rig since its was a 939 socket type CPU = ok, use the same HD & its just a $250 cost to fix & now I get to run Hyperspin & cruisn USA, thats acceptable right?

Then when its time to move data/add files my MAME's DVD drive craps out on me = erm damn wtf ok well whats another $50 right?

Then, then mother ---fudgesicle--- then my UVC $200 converter board burns up for no reason....... seriously, FML right now I just spent $40 on custom cut perforated steel speaker grills to fit along side my 33 WG right?

So do I get all pissed off trying to use the Avga I have here on my wavy ass cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, ****less, hopeless, heartless, fat-***, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey **** its is. Hallelujah. Holy ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. Where's the Tylenol monitor which will eventually cost me who knows what to fix or do I sell the avga for $50 & drop $350 on a new 32" LCD that makes all the CRT drama go away sand lot style for-ev-ver?

---fudgesicle---!

its LCD time & I am spending way to much on an arcade I already finished once, this totally slows down my LCD pinball project & took $750 from my pinball fund (tornado top, flyweight, cup holders, hole saws, speaker grills, new pc & 32" hdtv)

OK so I'm not totally done on this yet because I failed to order enough LED #89 flashers along with some other bulbs, but this is what it looks like now.  I've tinkered with the idea of switching the blue LED's around the death star or R2 to white.  My original thought was any place that had generally blue plastics get blue LED's and generally white/clear plastics get white LED's.  I'm also going to replace the #555 bulbs in the pop bumpers with red LED's as well.

Opinions?

Sorry for the crappy pic.  I took this with my phone because I got lazy.  BTW - not sure if this is the norm or not but pulling all the plastics, cleaning areas with Novus 2 and then waxing, replacing rubbers and bulbs took me probably 5 hours yesterday.  Good thing these LED's are supposed to last forever.  Does it take anyone else that much time?

Looks good  Pinball + star wars + cool LED's = a very jealous PW79.... Wait did I just 3rd person myself like a Billy Mitchell?

Anyway 5 hours? Just "use the force" next time. JK dude it takes me forever to do anything on a pinball machine so 5 hours sounds pretty good to me.

FYI: The new Hyperspin ---smurfing--- rocks! The wheel control is now perfect, the page up/down is professional as all get out now & the minted list seems pretty damn minty if you ask me.

The "new?" HS?  They must have added a recent update.  Man it would be frieckin nice if somebody would put out a detailed tutorial on how to setup that emulator.  Not sure my computer has high enoughs specs anyway.  The last time I tried it the opening sequence was choppy.

Yeah that new version is now doing some funky ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- to my PC so before you upgrade hold off. I have like random wheel art disappearing, themes that will not load unless I go back & forth a few times & when I open HS or the editor it shows up in my task list but no where else to be found :-(

Its so pretty though so I am not giving up

Edit: I first loaded a hacked version of XP from India & I think it was unstable, now its time for a clean OEM disc of XPcorp. FML must FTP movies & themes again, yawn.

I know HS changed their file structure all around on the latest update. I'm not about to redo my setup, so whatever themes I have now are all there is going to be. That being said, I'm very happy with HS. I have had MaLa and Maximus on there and IMO, this is far cleaner...and idiot-proof. But making game lists is a ---smurfette---...at least on the older version.

2nd night of pee-wee football practice tonight. God must pretty much hate STL with 2 weeks hovering around 100. I'd feel sorry for these poor little guys, but coach UncoolJ lost about 20 lbs of water weight himself yesterday...there goes that 3rd person again.

Its easy to set up now, just download the updated minted set & put the FE on "themes only" = done

There are maybe 25 videos that are either missing or perhaps need to be renamed or something to work on my config. There are maybe 6 wheel arts missing too but a few wheels & videos would be something I can resolve pretty easily. No need to make a game list or anything these days, this FE is in a good place now. Before it was awesome but needed some improvment & was impossible to set up with a clean list (for me at least). DL it, c'mon man sell out & join the club.

Wait, so all I have to do now is download it and set the FE to "themes only"?  Is this only one download or one download for FE, one download for themes, one download for wheel art...etc.?

Another thing, I assume I would need to use Clrmamepro to rename all my roms to match the theme name structure?

How do you create games lists now?

BTW - So yesterday I noticed on SW DE that one of the white rubbers I replaced just broke/split.  ---smurfing--- brand new 2-3/4" rubber and it just snapped off.  So I had to order replacement rubbers from Marco in which shipping cost me more than my order.  Plus now its going to be another day or two before I can finish this game up....and I really want to play it....

You should've said something, there's a good chance I have one. I didn't strip the ramps down when I did VND. So those in the back didn't get changed out. BTW, it had black rubbers when I bought it instead of the stock white...I know why. Filth sticks to those glo-balls. Even after cleaning it up, there is still a lot of dirt that is hiding. So my white rubbers already look used.

So word is there's a new arcade at Lake Ozark. I'm gonna make every effort to investigate this rumor this upcoming weekend. I will report my findings...unless the weather is just kick-ass, then I'll probably be down by the water the whole time.

So I've lived in Edwardsville for about 3 weeks now, loving it. Anyway, I got a chance to go to Chuck's tonight for the first time.

HOLY ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---

I knew what the deal was but WOW- I was not expecting all that to be 15 minutes from my dorm! That place is awesome. I didn't get much time to talk to Chuck but from what I was hearing in the background (What I could hear over the jukebox haha) he seemed like a great guy. Played for about 4 hours, definitely got my $10 worth. My middle fingers (used for flipper buttons, mind you) feel blistered on the tips even. Managed to only set one score, 4th on Bride of Pinbot, but thats actually the first time my initials have gone on a machine.

Definitely a place I will be going back to next chance I get.

Well, my dad came for a visit today so of course I had to take him over there. He's who got me into pins in the first place. He thought it was pretty awesome as well.

As for stripping my initials off of BoP, don't worry. Someone already beat you to it  ;D I spent an hour on that bastard tonight and kept getting within half a million of getting my score back up there. I'll prolly be there the next time he's open, I'm not leaving until I've beaten that machine!

Oh and tonight and last night the place was PACKED. I was pretty surprised at the turnout!

&?

Super weak. No pinball. They had a couple of sit down racers and Time Crisis 2, other than that it was a kiddie casino, and a ---smurfy--- one at that.

I need to hit Chuckster's next month, been busy coaching the boy's football team and whatnot.

Super Auctions Saturday
I plan to go a little early and play some games, not real serious about buying this time around. Cockober is completely full for me. The boy's football season ends in early November, so there's a much better chance of CPs then.

That machine rocks. In fact, it's next on my list. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to buy one right now, even if I had a buyer for VND. I've had my eye out for a while, that machine generally goes for $3K+. It would be a nice deal if it is (was, deleted now) in good shape.

I should just go out and buy a TSPP and roll it into my soon to be debilitating mortgage.  That would be sweet.

I have a plan....

After the closing on the new "Flake Manor" you should just refi it into only the Mrs' name via a cash out refi to get your down payment back. Then on this new loan get an Obama modification & put all that money saved + the returned down payment into your account.

Then default on the note...but dont even move your ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out, just buy it back for $75k less @ the courthouse bank REO auction, keep the previous down payment you cashed out & the saved Obama modification money for new pins. Now you have a basement full of pinball machines & a much reduced loan amount in only your name.

You will have to pay taxes on the forgiven debt portion but so what.

Its not unethical, its your little way of staving off inflation since mortgage liquidity comes truly from the Federal Reserve & IRS.

Buy me a machine too for the priceless advice

What is this Casino?  That is nice advice PBW you pull it off first then let know how it goes.  I would imagine the biggest obstacle is getting my wife approved in her name only.  A 100% financed loan on this house would be a hefty sum for her alone.
