Yeah, we hijacked that Spiderman thread...it should've been here on the dork thread. Amini's still sucks though. Well, the smokin' hot sales chick doesn't, but their prices do.

Flake

It is spring cleaning time at my place and a couple projects will have to go.  Unfortunately one of them will probably be my Operation Wolf.

When I bought it the only thing that didn't work was the bullet showing on the screen.  I think something jostled loose when I transported it home and it does not power up.

If you are seriously interested in coming out here to get it, I will sell it to you cheap, maybe even give it to you.

Let me know.

Wow JeepMonkey that's an attractive offer!  So just to clarify it currently does not power up at all and before that issue the gun dot on the screen didn't work?

IIRC, the recoil worked, bullet sound works, the shots just didn't register on the screen.

I will have to plug it in to remember if it has a hum.

LOL did I seriously say that?

Aug 31?

Bahahahaha! Sike! That wont happen with my 12 hour work days & 3 pending projects in front of me at the moment.

Dude that must have been during the WOF game I have almost no recollection of. I somehow got really reeeeally fubar'd last night, thinking the lack of food + my meds combined with the booze really got me "out there" a little too fast & too far. I didnt black out but a few segments are uncertain thats for sure.

You should have seen the necket slip n slide party I picked up my wife from at 1am when I got back to the ville, they made me look like a saint (not the byoac kind).

Word, that was by far the best time I had @ CP's....good stuff!

I got home thanks to cruise control and one eye open. I know I ran my mouth waaaayyy more than I played pinball. Got home and made a frozen pizza...took it and 3 beers out on the deck, stuffed my face and listened to the hoot owls go at it...not quite a nekked slip n slide. PBW, I think I got you on every other game we played (barely), including your great white whale STTNG. Still doesn't excuse me getting rolled at ToM. I think MM being out of commission set the tone for me to just get more f'ed up than I already was.

You know how I know we're getting old? I got home and still had half a 5th of vodka and 3 beers left in the cooler.

Spanish inquisition? Really?

I am a bit of a Molotov cocktail on the weekends, usually there are 2-3 compounds in my system so if I seemed a bit loud, eccentric & silly its because I am a ---meecrob--- bag + under the influence. One of these days Chuck will ask me to leave I just know it lol.

One more thing

This thread is in position 5 & soon to overtake position 4 when all threads in "Everything else" are sorted by the # of replies.

So I decided to make another reply to help propel this one up the ranks..... & state that I bet a lot of non STL people cringe every few days when this one pops back up with the recent threads

Bahahahaha non STL people take that!

You sonofabitch! So is it going to be SWDE next? You know if you pull that move, you are pretty much obligated to find and buy a SWE1 at some point to complete the set. What did you wind up getting for Cyclone, if you don't mind me axing?

$1,050 for Cyclone.

Haha....we'll see about the SWE1.  I played it at Chucks last time I was there and didnt very far in it.  However, I watched another guy playing it later that night and it seemed like there was a lot more going on in that game than I gave it credit for.

But man, they usually want a pretty penny for those machines $2K+

I think the $1400 range for the SW DE.  Says its in great shape.  Its been in a guys home for like the last 4 years so hopefully its been well protected over that time period.

You're an a-hole. Well, at least I get to play it and don't have to buy one myself. I wish some idiot would trade me straight up VND for TSPP. Of course I would have to visit an institution for the criminally insane to find an individual willing to make such a deal.

$2K+ for SWE1?  I rarely see one listed in the $2Ks, usually in the lower $3Ks.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I'm pretty sure I've seen a few on Ebay in the mid $2K range.  Maybe not.

Did you ever check to see if that Operation Wolf fired up?  I doubt I could take the time right now to treck it all the way to KC but just curious.

Chuck has a nice SWDE?

---fudgesicle---!

Dude buy it, then sell it to me when you want it gone.

Edit: 3 capacitors on my MB have swollen up & split open, it still works (for now) but I need to upgrade my rig for Hyperspin anyway. Going to finally go all out on the animated themes & then hopefully add one complete console or system every 60 days as a little side project.

Picked up a dual core 3.1Ghz AMD Athlon II for a mere $67.99!!!! Wow have prices fallen 700% within the past 36 months on those things. Putting 2gb of ram in there too, of course a new MB, upgraded the power supply as well & purchased a few case fans for my cabinet to move air in & out too. Totally took my entire machine apart wires & all to do a final tighten down & overhaul....wish me luck!

Flake - No time lately to work on arcade projects, but I did manage to get the garage cleaned out so now I have plenty of room to work.  I am having a new layer of shingles put on this weekend, so I am planning on working in the garage on arcade projects all weekend.  Ms Pac needs put back together, find power problem on OP Wolf, etc.  I wish I had the owners manual / schematics for OP Wolf, it would make life easier.

I am waiting for the guy I bought the 350Z from to get some paperwork from Kansas so I can get it licensed.  If that comes in I might be playing with the car rather than working on arcade projects.

Oh I've already committed to purchasing it so it's mine assuming it doesn't fall off a truck or something in the interim.  I'm sure I'll never sell it though  ;D

JM - not sure but I'd bet you money you could find that manual online.  I found one for operation thunderbolt when I was considering purchasing one awhile back.  Not sure I remember where.

Don't worry PW79, I'll sell you my VND once I'm ready to part ways. It's superior to SWDE with the fabulous glo-balls. You'll have to wait until I save enough dough to fill the space with a shiny TSPP.

I just scratched out a check for my property taxes. I could've had 3 primo pins, but instead I get the "privilege" of living in Madison County, IL for another year.  ---fudgesicle---!!!!!!!

The only thing that makes me feel good about Flake getting the DESW is how you guys have to spend more on taxes & gas than I do.

I should probably move to St Peters or somewhere out that way. Other than our 2 daily drivers and my ---smurfy--- Jeep, I don't have anything to get personal property taxed.

I saw an article about some Fortune 500 CEO contesting his property taxes in Aspen. Comparing the numbers, his house was worth 40 times mine and he pays 3 times what I pay in taxes. Sounds fair...especially considering the breath taking scenery we have in IL (if you like corn fields).

Picked up SWDE today and man it's the nicest game I've ever bought from Chuck cosmetics wise.  It's also the first game I've bought from him with no LEDs so I'll have to purchase some of those.  Honestly I don't understand those who are anti LED they are so much nicer IMO.

Pics to come later!

If it makes you feel any better I already broke a plastic part in the death star assembly that goes behind the yellow target.  It makes the death star nonfunctional because the ball doesn't fall all the way down into the hole.  It also looks like a PITA to replace.

Was also thinking about replacing bulbs with some LEDs but that looks like a PITA too.  Have to disassemble lots of crap to get to some of the bulbs.  How about you come over one night and work on this for me and as payment I'll let you babysit my kids one weekend night?  Deal?  Thought so....

It broke already? Well yeah that does make me feel better, thanks.

My idea of babysitting is giving the kids plenty of water & toys, then locking them in the back yard.

---fudgesicle--- yea its broke already.  And I cant find the replacement part anywhere online.  I've tried Pinball Life, Marco, Bay Area....etc.  It seems to be a more obscure part.  I'm scouring IPBD now to see if anyone has run into this issue before....no luck.

I also wanted to purchase some cliffy protectors and HOLY ---fudgesicle--- are they are expensive for two little pieces of metal!

I've said it privately, but I think the world needs to know you are such a cockboy. Damn that is a pretty machine. I love the cabinet, reminds me of the first series of Star Wars trading cards (the blue set).

I posted a help wanted ad to craigslist to see if I could find somebody to fix my VND board. I got a reply from a pinball enthusiast in St Jacob...5 miles from my house. Says he has fixed a ton and can take a look at it for me. Kool & the gang...a ---smurfy--- day is starting to look up. :afro:
