This is my favorite thread, STL kicks ass.

I am going to Chucks Saturday.....going to spend time with TSPP..........seriously thinking of selling 3 of my pins just to get one......gawd this is hard to decide on.

My fear is regretting how I sold 3 pins for one, damn

As much as I like TSPP, I dont think I would ever sell 3 pins to get just one.  I think you would seriously regret that decision.  But who knows  :dunno

If you've mastered them or are bored, I'd say go for it. I bet you could move 2 to get it. TFTC and JP should get you pretty close. The challenge may be finding one local. I'd start by asking Chuck, that's how I got hooked up with ToM.
I'm seriously thinking about cleaning up my ES this winter and seeking a trade or a buyer. It's a fun game, but now I've seen all that pinball can be. A TSPP would look nice in the atrium...or a CV...or a TOTAN...ahh dreams.

ToM hs update: 1.09B

I'm thinking a CV would be WAAAYYY out of your price range.  Even for you moneybags.  You wont get one around here for under $5K.  TOTAN would for sure fall under $3K.  Not sure about TSPP.  Probably still hovers around the $3K+ range.

I'm pulling for you though.  It would be nice to have one accessible to me.  CV is one of the few DMD gems Chuck doesnt have.

I'm looking forward to taking possession of my Cyclone.  I think older games have plenty to offer.  I think its nice to have a mixture of the two, DMD and pre-DMD games.

My system 11 sure seems clunky after an extended playing of ToM. Of course, that is part of the charm. I will have to sell/trade if I want another machine. So if the victim is ES, then I should have give or take $1200 to put towards the next machine...maybe a nice B title.

Maybe we should pull off a 1 or 2 month swap...I'll take TFTC or JP off of PW79 for ES. What is your 3rd title again PW79? My luck, I'd f something up on his game and have to shell out $500.

I wouldn't care as much if I f'd up one of yours Flake. I don't see you parting with DM before you have it mastered and you haven't played a game on Cyclone yet....so it will be awhile.

Yog if JP ends up moving out you will be the first to know..... LL & Flake have JP issues  >:D

LL: I have a JP, TFTC, WWF & a super project "Time Fantasy". You know I like the swap idea, I worry about if something broke too tho at either of our houses. If you get a CV we are going to have a party @ your place, just letting you know I am not above inviting myself anywhere there is a CV....plus you speak so highly of your wife's friends.

Flake you are getting a Cyclone?

To be honest, I would really have to luck into a CV. I can probably get a nice TOTAN for about half. And even at that, I would have to round up some money.

JP...that ain't right.

If we were to start a swap circuit, one of the group would have to spring for a pinball dolly. Maybe we should just have a revolving gameroom party once a month...no heavy lifting. Or just meet at Chucks and let him deal with the mess.

Flake, what's the status with DM? That is some mysterious shitz. Second thought, I don't think I want to swap you and have my machine running on your filthy power supply.

Dont know, I think Chuck is in Vegas.....bastard.  Plays fine at his place last I heard.  He's pretty confident its not power related.

I think just to be safe though, I might purchase another APC battery backup to eliminate any "potential" power issues.  Besides, then if the power goes out I can continue playing for a couple games.

I think you should buy a CV or TOTAN IMMEDIATELY.

There's a whole gang of pins on CL today: This batch is supposedly all f'ed up in one manner or another:
http://stlouis.craigslist.org/vgm/1322268388.html - I wonder if that Star Wars is the DE variety.

Then, there is also an ad for a Big Hurt machine for $950. If I had some space and a few bucks in my pocket, I might snare that puppy.

I gonna try to visit Chuckles in Sept. August is fubar.

I saw that Decauter ad.  All of them look like they need a VERY thorough cleaning but I would bet the rest could be easily fixed if you knew how.....which of course is my problem.  If I knew what I was doing I would probably go check them out.  The HS, SW and Freddy and BTTF are probably decent pins if you can snag at an appropriate price and fix them up.

If that is indeed a SWDE and the playfield was in good shape and it powered up correct, I'd give the guy $550 and stick it in my storage room to tinker with later. I have never played that machine, but being the Star Wars dork that I am, I would take a chance. It is a gorgeous machine.

Why doesnt the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- bag list the prices?.................He is going to gauge the intelligence of each call to determine price I bet.

My pal has a SW-DE, maybe he will jump into the swap circuit.

I am going to Chucks tomorrow, haha to you all.

So flake is your DM @ Chucks?

I am so gonna put my score on it if so LOL

Maybe I'll buy a beat up Raven to use as my entry to the swap circuit.

PW79, did you stroke Flake's kitten at Chuck's? I bet he felt a tremor in the force. If one of you tools bested my hs on ToM, I would pretty much have to go buy a case of Red Bull and stay up until I erased that abortion.

I was at Carlyle over the weekend and went to the store to get some ice. There was a place in a strip mall called Pinball Palace. I did a drive by (it wasn't open yet) and it said fast food on the window. I didn't see any arcade or anything in there, but it could have been in the back or in an ajoining room. I will have to investigate further.

I didnt end up going to Chucks, this weekend sucked ass. My lil bro's pal was killed in Afghanistan & the wake was Saturday.....I didnt go to it but decided to stay home for moral support for him afterward. Then we played fallout & got motion sickness after consuming a morbidly gluttonous amount of whole milk & boxed doughnuts.....---fudgesicle--- I nearly puked.

How can a place be called pinball palace & not have pinball? Thats false advertising, makes me want to open a place called "hamburgers" but instead sell adult videos.

That sucks dude. Sorry to hear that.

On a different subject, I have a verbal agreement to sell my motoryacht, so it looks like wife will get her pool next spring. Now I need a margarita machine and a bunch of big titted mermaids to lay around it.

Theatre of Magic really puts my Earthshaker to shame. And that pains me to say. But it is like PS3 vs Atari 2600.

Is CP open this weekend? I'm jonesing. I don't know if I could pull it off friday, wife is on call. And saturday is Beerfest here in Highland.

Why not just sell the ES outright, see how much you get for it and fork over the difference for the TSPP.  My guess is TSPP will cost you about the same as TOM.  Maybe a bit more.

PBJ only buys broken pins with fire damage from the parking lot of Super Auctions, he pays with confederate money too....thats why he snubs pinball prices.

I'll buy all the $1,700 TSPPs you can find all day long.

I would think you could find TSPP all day long for that price?

Were you tippin the bottle when you wrote that post PBJ?

I'm in no hurry to unload ES. I'm gonna do some cleaning and waxing on it this winter, along with fixing that pesky switch that works when it feels like it. Once it is shiny and functioning right, then I'll make the decision.

No LL, PBJ has the inside track on pinball prices.  I think there is a secret warehouse in TX, where if you know the proper knock sequence, you can get in and buy up all the pins you want for 40-50% less than FMV.  Of course they might need a switch fixed here or there.

Anything under a grand is a pile of ---Cleveland steamer---around here. ES seems to range about $1000-$1400 depending on condition.

I want to go but cant, must attend a 30th b-day party for my GF's friend.

This pinball/arcade/beer/xbox hobby of mine is very alienating. I want to go play pinball & arcades with strangers, not mingle with friends.

Seriously, other than CP's unless its BestBuy or the grocery store I am pissed to be there.

It was getting over the heebie-jeebies friday night and beerfest saturday night.  No ToM since thursday (where I played for about 3.5 hours).

Played a little DK on Mame saturday night. Tried that gimmick somebody posted on one of these boards where you have to jump the fire barrel when it bounces or something...failed miserably.

So STL Dorks, what are the plans this weekend? I'm working in the yard tonight and tomorrow up until the fellas come over for the fantasy football draft. Went ahead and wiped down the pins last night, although nobody but Flake will notice. ToM was acting up a little this week. The magnet in the left outlane was spontaneously activating now and then. I had a couple of bulbs that were out (just bad conections or bayonettes that weren't connecting), so I got under the hood last night. While I was there, I fiddled with the connections on the device in question...found nothing. But, I played 3 games after and no more incidents with the magnet. So maybe it unfuct itself.

Tonight I will finish my TFTC until prob 2 am (well complete all but the cabinet restoration which will be minimal).

Tomorrow I will eat, drink & be merry.....That usually means I black out, piss my pants & wake up to a pile of taco bell next to the dartboard.

Sunday I will apologize to everyone on my call list from the night before & repair my hangover with Lions Choice.

Pinball pisses me off, seriously I am about to sell all this ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- & build a digital pin with a 42' LCD.

Update beyatches!

I talked to Chuck today....he snagged up 5 new pins & from what I recall its a LW3, Freddy, Street Fighter...damn I forgot the other 2.

None of them are highly sought after gems but hey its another almost half dozen added to the pile...I bet the couch leaves building2...OMG thats going to be like 60 machines now!!!!!!!

Man I would like but I doubt I make it.  Actually that area has a lot of wineries too.  Would be great to make a nice long weekend out of it with a pinball show and some winery action intermixed.  However, with a lack of baby sitting options for my daughter coupled with a pregnant wife, neither are likely for me.  I really would like to see that guys presentation on his multi-pin.  Probably would be a very valuable learning experience if one were thinking of building something like that.

Dammit, why don't they have this in Feb or March when there is absolutely nothing going on? That's Dagofest weekend and I think my long lost sister is coming into town. Not to mention the boy will have a football game some time that weekend.

I too will be at the lake this weekend. It'd be nice if it would warm up a little.

Did Chuckles get those pins from that CL listing in Decateur? Flake pointed out to me the similarity in titles.
You probably remember me from such films as `The Revenge of Abe Lincoln' and `The Wackiest Covered Wagon in the West'

Hey STL dorks. I was thinking today, watch out huh. How would you all feel about renting chucks place out for a special byoac stl dorks meet and greet. Just a thought but its like $50/hr and 2hr min. I would be willing to pay for the first hour if you all want to get together some night and bring your wifes and or friends. I think it would be nice to get to meet all the stl people and play some pinball.
let me know if you all are down
