A challenge to everyone who knows their EMU's
« on: April 20, 2009, 08:44:45 am »
I have a dell optiplex(P3,733mhz,128meg,on board video, 9 gig hdd.) I've found that neoragex 5.0 works perfect, yet mame does not.....(only tried .103, if you know a version of mame that can do what i want, do tell.) I need to run cps1 & 2 games under this setup. Anyone?

I'm using .84 on a P3/933. It runs Mars Matrix fine, but I don't have any of the fighters on it.

I run the cps 1&2 games full speed on a 233mhz machine. Just use Nebula or Winkawaks.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

you need 256mb+ ram. advmame .8x and later executables already decompress to 40mb+, then the emulated machine and roms need memory too. with advmame .89 DOS, you will be able to play mslug, mslug2, mslugx, but not the later games in the series.

Well I took in your input, and I thank you all for it...but here comes another toughie, In mame .84 the games run as if in a widescreen mode(two black bars, on top and bottom) and ajusting the display options in mame(properties) doesn't help. It does the same in winkawaks. Nebula will start but only give audio and a white screen when I load a rom. Any help on the matter? And yeah neorage is great for me,Runs all but one game perfect on this weak machine, strikers 1945plus.
