screenshot archive
« on: April 08, 2009, 04:10:53 pm »
I have seen on many sites that http://www.localarcade.com/screenshotarchive/ is a great place to get screenshots and box/cart scans in bulk without having to do each one by hand. Is there a site that actually works, though? Every time I attempt to download something from this site, it is unreadable, whether in .zip or .rar, and I have tried from different computers, Mac and XP, from work, and from home. No progress.

You have to download the DAT for the system you are working on and also the image renamer from the tools section. Your roms must be name with the no-intro format. You can use clrmamepro to rename them.

Just curious as to what exactly you're looking for as I got a lot from the screenshot archive.  Maybe I've got some of what you'r looking for.

I tried downloading the renamer that they have on the site, but windows tells me "failed to initialize" every time. Does this need .NET framework or something?

Important note : .NET framework is needed to run the applications.

I have box scans for SNES, N64 and Genesis and cart scans (not the whole cart, just the sticker on the cart) for the NES.

All are in Good Tools naming format and are most (if not all) of the US releases.

Not sure the best way to get them to you, but I know emumovies.com has an FTP server I could upload to if you're interested.

...yeah... just caught that myself. I feel like an idiot now. I've got it running now.
