i wanted to ask if it is possible to fix a purple tint or very low contrast on a monitor

What kind of monitor?  You didn't specify.

If it's a VGA monitor, I'll bet it's just a bad connection.  If it's one with a removable cable, try another cable.  If it's not, wiggle it around a bit and see if it comes and goes.

If it's not...well, post back.

if just weak and depending on condition of guns,
a simple rejuvination may get some more life out the crt
