Portal: Flash Map Pack
« on: May 08, 2008, 02:50:00 pm »
This is by far the best map pack / mod I've seen for the game.  It's around 3 1/2 hours long and they did a brilliant job with the puzzles, but it is quite a bit harder then the original portal (which is a good thing in my opinion).

If you enjoyed Portal and want more of a good thing, then I highly recommend getting this:

Yup, PC only.

I just finished the game (I was about 3/4 of the way through when I first posted about it) and the ending is great.  The model of the final boss was a little cheesy and blocky (looks more like its from the half-life 1 engine), but the fact that they even had a final boss and is pretty awesome.

Valve should hire the people that created this is create an official expansion to Portal while the original Portal team works on Portal 2.

Since I already have a thread about Portal, I just thought I'd point out that Valve just released a demo for the game, so if anyone hasn't tried it yet, heres your chance.

I just passed this game too. And your wrong it doesn't look cheesy or blocky. I don't know what you where looking at but it was a pretty nicely done 3D model. Now if you're talking about what the final boss is, then that's different.

But yeah this games is pretty awesome and the ending credits song had me giggling like a little school girl. Best ending song for a game ever. I'd like to see more of Portal.

I thought I'd revive this thread since I just came across a new fantastic mod for Portal called Portal: Prelude.  It takes place before GladOs was created when the test chambers were run by actual scientists, and there is a ton of new dialog in the game.

Currently I'm only up to test chamber 5, but they already are far more difficult then the final levels in Portal, so be prepared to be challenged.
