Mortal Kombat 1 Cab
« on: March 10, 2009, 01:47:54 pm »
In a few days i'm going to go buy a arcade cab and make it a mortal kombat  1 dedicated. I have a monitor computer and artwork. The problem is i have a xarcade 2 player does anybody know how I would put that in a cabinet? Thanks for your help and responses.

Sell the X-arcade, and use the funds to buy real MKI arcade controls.

I don't want to sell it because I want it for games such as street fighter ect.

How exactly do you plan then to put the xarcade in a 'dedicated' MK, yet keep the Xarcade intact?

If you're making a true MK1 dedicated cabinet....MK1 is the only game that should be in it. hence the word....dedicated.

If you're just building a mame cabinet that kinda looks like an MK1 cab then by all means use the Xarcade...

but I STRONGLY suggest getting rid of it and building your own control panel to go onto the cab. It will look like a more authentic arcade machine that way.

I gutted a 2-player X-arcade panel for my Mame project a couple years ago. Just remove all the guts, install MK joysticks and buttons, and wire them up the same way the X-arcade panel was using it's guts. Maybe this will help...

Current collection - 28 cabs, 4 pins. (32 machines and not enough room)

X-Arcade on MK = no no!  Keep it real my friend.  I built a MKII control box from scratch for a mame controller and shortly after I purchased a dedicated MKII and the CP boxes are identical.  Just take you time and pay attention to detail and you'll be good to go.  Let me know if you need exact dimensions and pictures and I will hook you up!  I'm real big on preserving anything MK!
