the memcard that came with it isnt worth a nickle.

Id pay $100 for a good working PSP and battery and charger. the 10 games prolly suck, cause well most PSP games do. how ever the SNES emulation is surprisingly good

Fat version?  I own one from my brother.  Easy to custom firmware.  No outside tools or money required.  I've got things like sudoku, minesweeper, picross on it.

I'd say go for it if you like at least like one of the games.  Once beaten, and if you no longer want it, you could sell it yourself.  Possibly for profit.

That seems like a good deal. The old ones are not that different from the new ones. From wikipedia if it is a 2000 series the differences are
Quote
the PSP-3000 features an improved LCD screen, a built-in microphone, an oval shaped start and select buttons, and expanded video-out. The LCD screen features a higher contrast ratio, shorter response time, and wider color gamut, as well as anti-reflective technology for improved visibility in well-lit environments.
if it is the older one

The redesign also features composite TV output, supports charging via USB, double the onboard RAM (32 MB to 64 MB), and has a brighter screen.[76] It also caches UMD data in memory to decrease game loading times. The WLAN switch has been moved to the top where the old IR receiver was to avoid accidental switching, and the speaker vents that were at the bottom and underside of the original PSP have been moved to the top of this new model.[77]
. The games I have really enjoyed are God of war, Wipeout Pulse and Tekken Dark resurrection. My friend really enjoyes Final Fantasy Tactics but its not my cup of tea. Also if you are itching for grand theft auto on a portable the GTA games for psp are pretty good.

Well I picked it up for $100, was missing charger  :-\ so I picked up a used charger from Game spot for $7.99

Its in pretty good condition, has 12 games, are as follows:

Star Wars: Lethal Alliance
Star Wars: Battlefront II
Star Wars: Battlefront Renegade Squadron
Practical Intelligence Quotient 2
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops
Twisted Metal head on
Hotshots Golf open tee
Harry Potter order of the phoenix
Crash of the Titans (crash bandicoot)
Daxter
Crush
GTA Liberty City Stories

It only has a 32mb card, Looking at getting a 4GB mem stick soon for it and to put some snes and genesis goodness on it.

Its not a slim version...is model psp1001, so my question is, how do I know if I have to do any modifications to the firmware in order to play snes/genesis stuff on it, system software shows version 3.51

I did some research, reading about needing to make some modifications to the battery and to put a 5.01 version of the firmware, this is a little daunting for a psp newb :dizzy:

if anyone would like to PM me please do

You did well with that with all those cool games.

I paid over $100 for the games you listed alone (still haven't played them though) but is worth it.

With the economy going the way it is, I'm hoping to see more deals like these.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

Fats are generally easier to mod, but you got hosed.  In a sense.  psp-hacks.com forum has plenty of tutorials.  And anything 3.50 and below doesn't need a separate battery and such...and you have 3.51.   :-[  When I got my brother's, he still had his around 2.71 or so.  It was an easy downgrade to 1.50, then a few small incremental steps to the current firmware.  (You can't go from 1.50 to the latest, you'll need to hit some steps in between.)  I didn't need a separate battery or have to purchase anything.  Hope you can find someone with a usable battery for free.

I use darkalex's firmwares.  Seems like an excellent fw.

Good luck.
