That link didn't give me the right video. I searched for "pool table" and nothing came up.

That is pretty slick. I just hope they have cues that don't require chalk - I imagine the OCD types windexing the thing after every game.

Maybe wiping after every stroke?  Imagine having that table though.  That really is amazing.

Seeing the ball return is awesome. If they just threw a few more rube goldberg-esque-isms in the process, it'd be perfect!

Looks retarded, and I would not be able to play a serious game on it.

Nothing like walking into a dim room with a nice bright lamp above a dark green felt.  8)

Looks like one of the cheap convertible type things they sell at sporting good stores at Christmas.
I'd rather have a real table for $2600, let alone $26,000.  :P

it looks pretty trendy.... but not my cup of tea....

even if there's no budget limit, I would not get it....
I prefer an old school nicely crafted pool table if I have $$$....

Interesting and beautiful, but the balls do appear to behave a bit differently on that surface (they didn't show putting english on the cue ball that I noticed either).  Also, I wonder what it sounds like (probably noisier than a felt lined table I'm guessing since they muted the audio hehe).

The glass has a layer of some sort of material they claim causes the balls to behave the same as if on felt.

I was kinda curious as to how it "sounded" as well.

And as for the layer of stuff on the table.... I'd be afraid to damage it.
Cuz then what do you do?
So I'd probably not attempt any English stuff on it.

Otherwise I kinda like it...... but not to the tune of $26000 like it.

it looks cool, but im sure theres a reason pool tables are the way they are. im no pool player myself, but i bet a game on that would be crap. and the compnination of two hard surfaces always hitting each other...

Well, they claim it has a clear, felt-like surface, so it's not really that much harder a surface. (Plus, I dare you bang your head on a normal pool table surface.......did you do it? Yeah it hurt. You shouldn't do what people tell you)

Yeah a pooltable surface is basically just a piece (or pieces) of slate with a thin layer of cloth on top.

I do feel the balls don't run enough in that clip though. But then maybe they went for home/bar cloth rolling resistance instead of that of competition cloth.

I've got a Brunswick Montebello table, but it's still in storage. I miss it. I should get going with my game room :P

Hmmm. I wonder how the perspective would affect shots. Also, notice none of the balls were hit hard enough that to bounce. What about jump shots, etc? HEY, and what about surface wear?? Will that require removing it and re-doing it in the shop?

I can see that price because: it's heavy duty construction; it's a special process for the surface; and it's a total niche market. I'd like to check one out, but I bet I'd rather have a custom design of my own....or, at the very least, I'd use a tinted, translucent glass. Maybe amber. Or maybe a super dark purple.

The construction of that table is pretty high end. Just the metal I bet costs several hundred. Then it's machined - welding would look ultra uncool - powder-coated or anodised, who knows what else. Hell, just the design has to be to engineer's specs so that the play field is, and will stay, level.
