Does anybody know the correct frame file offsets for the Daphne games....( Hope I'm explaining this right)...Dragon's Lair is 151...what about the rest?

My friend and me are both trying to build a cab and he recently got a hold of the Daphne setup. He made a copy for me and when I looked, It was an older version of Daphne...0.97 ( i think)....
Well the instructions he was given and what he gave to me was in the configuration, locate the mpeg file, generate a framefile and place a number  (he told me 1 or 10) for the framefile offset...upon doing this...We couldnt get any of the games to work...Yesterday I was searching and I noticed that the frame file numbers were different for each game. (reading the past forums here). Can somebody here tell me what the numbers are for all the laserdisk games...I would try the Daphne site, but I cant gain access because of the NSFW filter here at work.

This post is for DaphneX, but I think the framefiles should be the same.

The framefile offset depends entirely on the actual LD rip you have.  There is no magic number that works for all dragon's lair mpg rips.  Daphne used to have a mechanism which you could use to calculate the framefile yourself by stepping through the video frame by frame until a known scene shift or something.  I can't remember where I read about that procedure though (probably on the daphne forums).  Your best bet is to find a new mpg that actually comes with an accompanying framefile.

Thats just it...I dont know which or how many LD versions there is... I was just trying to find a ball park figure...I think I have what i need....(Thanks TAG) I am going to try them and see when I get home later today. Basicly my friend has the DVDs and he burned me a copy and we are working together to figure them out....The instructions that were on the DVD said to generate a framefile and place 1 or 10 in the Framefile offset....When I did that on Dragon's Lair...the game skipped, froze, screamed Marco Polo and whatnot.... Well then I placed 151 for the offset and now I am a valient knight on a quest to rescue a fair princess from the clutches of an evil dragon....

Last night was the first time I have ever played "Badlands"....That game was soooo cheesy, I thought I was in the Kraft plant....but Dag Nabit, I killed every body and every animal I saw.... oh and apoligies to Miss Rose for shooting her when she stepped out of the saloon...

You mean "Goal to Go?"  Here's some info from the Daphne website:

Goal to Go runs on the same hardware as Cliff Hanger. While the Cliff Hanger driver was being actively developed, we added a Goal to Go driver since it theoretically would work with the Cliff Hanger driver. During this time, Goal to Go would show laserdisc video but could not be played because the graphics were scrambled. As we tried to improve the Cliff Hanger driver, we accidentally disabled the laserdisc video in the Goal to Go driver. As a result, the Goal to Go driver became less functional than it previously was. No developer has ever had enough interest to go back and try to get the Goal to Go driver back to its former UNPLAYABLE state, nor to make the game fully playable, despite the obvious fact that since the Goal to Go driver is unplayable, it means that our Cliff Hanger driver isn't emulated correctly.

As a result of this situation, some Daphne users have expressed an unusual amount of interest in Goal to Go. Some Daphne users want to know why the game no longer works (it never did). Other Daphne users want to know where they can get an old enough version of Daphne in order to 'play' the game (since it was never playable, the most anyone can hope to do is find an old version where the laserdisc video is visible). The interesting thing about the whole Goal to Go situation is how unsettled some people can be about previously having something and losing it (previously being able to see the laserdisc video, and now no longer being able to). I am quite convinced that if someone actually got Goal to Go fully working, that interest in this game would drop to about 0 percent and no one would ever think or talk about it again.

Goal to Go....yeap that was it ( I couldnt remember to save my life) Thanks TAG....The info you sent me helped me alot...I've got the games going last night....worked like a charm...
