NFL Blitz 2000 PC
« on: January 12, 2009, 11:44:37 am »
I've been trying to set up NFL Blitz 2000 PC on an XP computer, and when the (this replacement) computer is ready it will replace my existing computer in my cabinet using an iPac2.

As I attempt to set up the controllers, the game will not accept L ctrl, L alt, L shift as options.

I've read some older links on programing difficulties of NflB2000 PC but wanted to see if there has been some recent thoughts on this issue.

I would like to see if there is a workable to soluttion use the ctrl, alt, and shift keys for game play.  Otherwise, I am interested in being able to play the game, launched through mamewah, in my cabinet.

Make a new profile for Winipac and change the buttons to ones Blitz will see. Just load that before playing. (If using a frontend, you can automate the process of loading profiles)

If you can set an executable to run before the game launches, it should just be:

"winipac profile.ipc"

then if you can set it to change after running, have it change back to your default.

Clear as mud correct?  Let's see if I got this right.

PClinks.ini...

pre_emulator_app_commandlines             c:\winipac\winipac.exe  "c:\winipac\nflblitz2000.ipc"

emulator_commandline                             PC "[rompath]\[name].[romext]"{dosbox}{safelaunch}

post_emulator_app_commandlines            c:\winipac\winipac.exe  "c:\winipac\mamewah.ipc"

So when I launch NFL Blitz 2000 through mamewah, the ipac will load the configuration I have set up for NFL Blitz 2000, and then when I exit the game, it will default back to the mamewah configuration (ipc).

So when I go to launch other PC games the IPAC will not reprogram because the setting is only supposed to program when there is a game launched with the same name as the ipc name profile, true?

 :blah:

Pretty much. I don't think you need the parenthesis, and I'm not certain what all flags are needed set for PC games through Mamewah (I still haven't set mine up to run PC games. Check http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Mamewah for more info)

It looks good to me. The only change I would make is this.
Code: [Select]
pre_emulator_app_commandlines             c:\winipac\winipac.exe nflblitz2000.ipc

emulator_commandline                             PC "[rompath]\[name].[romext]"{dosbox}{safelaunch}

post_emulator_app_commandlines            c:\winipac\winipac.exe mamewah.ipc"
Since your .ipc files are located in the same folder as winipac.exe you don't need to specify the whole path
to the .ipc files.

Thank you. So I don't worry about putting in the nflblitz2000.ipc or the mamewah.ipc, correct?   So when I launch nflblitz 2000 (PC) it should recognized an ipc of the same name and reprogram the ipac?

You still have to tell it what .ipc to load. Only differnce is you don't have to specify the whole path.

emulator_commandline                             PC "[rompath]\[name].[romext]"{dosbox}{safelaunch}

post_emulator_app_commandlines            c:\winipac\winipac.exe mamewah.ipc

Thanks guys.  I think since this computer is not in the cabinet yet, I have been having a harder time wrapping my brain around this concept, and I have been just left of obsessive in trying to get NFLB2000 to work.  Thanks for helping me process.

Or use NullDC.

Speaking of NFL Blitz for the PC, does anyone know where I can find the patch for the Original NFL Blitz PC that has League Play?  I looked on the 'net and can't seem to find it.  Thanks.
