Damn... I bet if you magnified it, it's not red on black, it's black on red... and all those spaces are monoliths.

I for one welcome our new sun.

I can think of a few folks around here that would benefit from touching one...

OK, I dont get this picture.
Why would two perfectly normal dolphins have a human baby? And on top of that why would they leave him in a pyramid made out of a bubble?

well, they are talking about monoliths. that seems to be a '2001, a space odyssey' reference. i dont know anything about the sequels, maybe clarke was inspired by adams and decided we needed rescuing by dolphins?

Check the image properties. That image came from http://www.starchildascension.org . try taking a look at that.

Yeah, I just randomly googled Starchild, and that's the first decent image I came upon.

danny, Clarke wrote 2001 when Adams was still in high school.

Much later but the whole starchild concept was in the first book.   :)

Adams may have been a good writer but Clarke was nominated twice for the Nobel Prize.  Communication satellites in geostationary orbits was his idea.  The geostationary orbit above the equator is actually called the Clarke Orbit.   :notworthy:

Dolphins as the superior species isn't an Adams concept either.   :)

Dunno, they never really struck me as overly smart since they keep getting caught in the tuna nets.
