Sony PGM-200R1U monitor - anyone have any info on it?
« on: October 17, 2008, 12:40:41 am »
I'm trying to find more specs on the Sony PGM-200R1U as one is available nearby complete with the scan converter module for a decent price (still a little high though).
http://www.skylinebroadcast.com/SONY_PGM200R1U.htm
What I can't tell is if it supports 15khz resolutions.  The link above mentions "15.75kHz RGB" but it's not really clear as the text is all run together.  Any info would be appreciated.  I'm trying to stock up on CRT monitors that can be used in arcade cabs before the end of the world comes. :laugh2:

it may be possible that it supports 15.75 khz input, but will only line double it up to 31khz.  I have read that several of the large monitors do that.  When you are looking at the specs they will say "15.75:31khz" instead of "15-31Khz"

So maybe this monitor can take an arcade signal and display it, just not at it's native resoluton.

Still definitely worth getting IMO.

Hm, I missed this thread way back. Well, this part should be telling:

fH 15.5kHz to 85kHz fV 50Hz to 120Hz  .   Pretty high-end, then.

Probably got the specs from here:

Don't you have this in your favorites somewheres? Go-o-lly.

Thanks for that info, because I found Nothing.

I'm not too presintion monitor savy, it's supposedly only has RGBHV so it should hook up gread with an ATI card with compsite adapter ?

Also I suppose there is no way this thing would Auto-snyc huh ? This still should be great for a Big Cab Mame setup right?

Thanks

Dammit I'm pissed I missed out on that one then.
It was on sale for $150.  Kinda high I thought at the time, but those specs are worth their weight in gold now.

Yep. I have that monitor specs pdf on my favorites as well as saved to more than one computer. But the specs were on that link you provided, messy as they were posted on the page. Ah well.
