Thanks for your input fellas. The pedestal is a no-go, my son uses a wheelchair and I definitely want this cab to be reachable for him to play using his wheelchair or a regular one.
I may just shave a bit off of the bottom and angle the cp by trimming the front panel down to where the top of the coin door used to be.
OR totally remove the front panel allowing him to pull right in under a lowered CP with his chair.
He can access a regular height CP, he loves Ms. Pacman!
As much as I love the art on this one, I'm not gonna butcher it, but let's be realistic, it will never be a candidate for restoring to original, too much is missing.
I just wish it weren't so uncommon, I would just cut away what I don't need and really get it the way I'd like it!
And unfortunately cabs for MAME are getting more scarce here.
Maybe I ought to regift this one and wait for a more suitable one!
It's just so damn BIG!
So tell me, what is the average height of an arcade CP top to floor, this one is 43"!?
Or even a sit-down Candy cab type CP?
Keep 'em coming, I'm in no hurry, still gotta go to storage and inventory my arcade parts.
Thanks, ARCADIAC!
P.S. as far as using a flatbed scanner to scan sideart, it seems that all that would need to be done is remove the cover, attach to a laptop and get an extra set of hands to help manuver the rig section by section and there ya go!
