Making new artwork
« on: June 12, 2003, 02:07:27 pm »
Here's some ideas I got for the CP and the marquee.
The lady is drawn in Illustrator, so it's vector, full scalable :)
What'cha think lads?

Nice, I like a lot. Very clean and professional looking, would work really well with all black or all blue buttons.

That is awsome!  I think that should be the logo for MAME32 ;)
Got any side art yet?

Did you draw that yourself?  If you did I would be intrested in seeing more drawings like this.

I agree, that is awesome.

They just started a repository for vector artwork at: http://www.mametrixreloaded.com/graphics.html

Click on file downloads to see what's already been uploaded. If you don't mind others using your work you could upload your vector file of her to that repository.

BTW - is she a game character or an original creation? She doesn't look familiar to me.

They look great! Only question: Is the CP fully completed? The upper left looks a little empty...

Well, to be honest I will keep it simple... not to much flashy flashy everywhere!!! Dunno about you guys, but I'd rather keep it stylish and simple! :)
Think I get it printed next week. Just ordered blue t-molding too, gonna get awesome :)

Wow, I like the look of that CP a lot.  My only comments would be that you might want to think of a less dull color for the grid, something about it dosen't quite look right to me, maybe its too dark or grey or something.  Maybe a little color on the grid might serve nicely.  Or maybe keep the grid the same, but make a more obvious gradient on the gray in the background.
On the girl, of course I have to ask if you drew that?  If so, definitely good work, and if not, that's some hella good illustrator work none the less.  Also, if that's where the buttons are actually going to be on the CP, maybe move the girl up slightly so that her chin isn't have absorbed by a button, so you get a clear view of her face.
If you want to get a little more complex, I bet if you put just those technology lines I've seen on a few pieces, like the ones that are just kinda random you see on avatars and such, where it has boxes and other stuff like that, that might go well.  I don't know if that's your style or not though, but sometimes it seems to make boring corners really interesting.  Justa thought.
    -Good Work so far
       -Luke

Oh and for the q's on that manga-girl... no, I didn't handdraw it myself... I found it at a manga-gallery, took it to illustrator for a ride, ie. I clean-drawed it in illustrator... hell of a job really :) But was fun, and I would do it again! I'm not that much into drawing manga myself yet, I have been learning about it, but my skills at drawing manga isn't that good yet. If you want the girl in vector, gimme a shout, and I'll send it your way :)

You could always upload it to the vector library!  ;D
If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.

pm me if you whant more details.
I'm on the planning stage
