i want to add a spinner to my system but dont want to forkout lots of cash on something i might use,

is there a guide on how to make a easy one that works and interface board?

is there many horizontal games that use a spinner or is it all vert?

i have a generic cab with 20"mon 2 joys 3 buttons, and no space for spinner,
*see crap pic i made.

where the black circle is could i mount a spinner there so its vertical? would that work

a picture of your CP would give us a better idea of how to help you.

The only way to understand that drawing includes visits to a psychiatrist, heavy doses of drugs, and the demons that live in my hair translating for me.

The problem I see with mounting the spinner where I think you have it pictured, would be that people would constantly be hitting it while playing a game.
On my second arcade cab, i put the admin buttons on the very front of the CP. People would constantly hit the buttons while playing. We finally had to install finger guards over the buttons. I will never do another cab like that, unless I can recess the buttons.

I googled: diy arcade spinner. Here's a list of links (many dead). Which got me to How to Build the Cheep Spinner a 47 page pdf guide. If that's not enough, here's a page that shows you how to make one from a hard drive spindle.

is there many horizontal games that use a spinner or is it all vert?
I'm guessing that you're talking about horizontal or vertical monitor? I did a deluxe search at maws. There are more horizontal games that use a paddle or dial than vertical ones.

I think it would be very uncomfortable to use the spinner if it was mounted on the front face of the CP.

Here are my very crappy "instructions" (I use the term loosely) showing how I made my spinner from a laser mouse and hard drive bearing:
