I don't know about that, but two linear actuators would look really cool on it.

Not sure yet ... I have a spare 15" CRT I could use ...

Cup holders? Yea, or nay?

Shame this thing was built in Europe and we never completed the one in Texas.  I lived in that area (south of Dallas) when all that stuff was going on.  When the plugged was pulled, lots of communities died over night.

US gov't dumped over a billion dollars on it, never finished it, and sold it for $6million to some real estate investment firm that's lost their ass on it.

This is probably the first nail in the coffin of US supremacy on the sciences.

Depends on if the collider gives them what they want. If they get nothing out of it, we look pretty damn smart for cancelling ours.  ;D

Well, you gotta remember, the whole purpose of this collider is to prove the existence of magic dust.  Dust that HAS to exist or else every conceived model of the universe doesn't work.

Exactly. Just proving The higgs boson is considered a huge failure for the collider. If that is all they get out of it, then they wasted their time.

The computer that deals with the LHC data can play all current emulated 3827 arcade games on Grid-Mame at full speed simultaneously! They tried it during the holiday on a hundred 2560x1600pixel 30 inch screens with all games running 1to1 pixel mapping.

where do you get that from shardian , i watched a documentary on it last night, in which all the main people explained that no findings are as valid as findings, this is the only way to prove or disprove theories. the physicists are excited either way, theres no information coming out of it that us mere mortals will understand.

and just so all you US guys know , the US is involved with the programme so you can go back to supporting it now, not hoping it will fail because its based in europe.
got COLOR codes from projects, post them here

add stuff to the uk wiki section

I don't think anyone was bashing it because it was built in Europe. He was simply just stating that it seems like an end of an era for the US scientific community.

It was in an article that summarized the planned experiments. I can't remember where I read it at.

So they built one of these? Collider

Cool.
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

I think its a government conspiracy.
This is really a microwave oven for the race of giants that the government is secretly breeding on mars.
When they come to earth, they will need it for the giant Hot Pockets being made on the moon even as we speak. (also giant moon pies).
