Program to turn on my LED's?
« on: September 09, 2008, 04:53:15 pm »
Hey all,

I have Maximus Arcade and it doesn't yet support LEDWiz.  But it can start programs on startup.  Is there a program that can be used to either blink my LED's or even to simply have them light up and stay lit?  A little something that will sit in the task bar quietly?

Thanks
Beck

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

The new Beta version of MA has a tab under that menu that is specific to LEDBlinky. You can to a bunch of lighting effects or create your own. I wound up abandoning MA (for now) because I could not get MAME to light up the controls used for each game either in the game list or during the actual game. This was a deal killer for me as I m trying to idiot-proof my cabinet. BTW, it's not going well...I guess idiots shouldn't try idiot-proofing! :burgerking:

Maximus Arcade's support for LEDBlinky is not working just yet. The problems should be resolved by the next official MA release.

If you're only playing mame games, you can configure LEDBlinky to light up the game controls without using any MA settings. Just configure Blinky for 'Other' FE, and set the 'Use MAME to Trigger Start/Stop Events' option. Then start LEDBlinky before MA starts (or have MA launch LEDBlinky at startup). Don't forget to turn off any MA settings for LEDWiz/LEDBlinky.

UPDATE...I did configure LEDBlinky to MaLa last night and it works just as it should. I am very pleased, it lights the game controls and runs animations on start, exit, idle, and screen saver. I even created an animation in its editor. Very nice...hopefully it MA users can get it to work as well.
