Control Panel hooked onto main Cabinet?
« on: July 19, 2008, 03:33:27 am »
Alright, so I'm really new with all of this, and I've been reading the "Project Arcade" book, but I just had a question, that I can't seem to figure out?  How is the Control Panel hooked onto the main cabinet?  Because I've seen how others have made the Control Panel separate when I thought it was built right into the whole cabinet.  I just would like to know how others have done it, and what they recommend?  Thanks!

If you put a cross-beam across where the CP will rest, you can then use bolts to bolt the CP on.  Just drill some holes in the bottom of your CP for the bolts to go through, and feed the bolts through the holes in the cross beam.  Tighten up the nuts and the CP won't go anywhere, plus it will still be removeable if needed.

Or some people use "L" brackets to tie the cp and the cab together. How they attach though is really dependent on what type of cp you have.

Rr Or you can use something like this, which is what the project arcade book uses: http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=70&products_id=204

GGG, mikesarcade, happ, and therealbobroberts, well pretty much all the places where you can buy controls sell them. Going rate is about 8 bucks a pair

*edit: fixed typo on first line

Of course... I'm not done with my project just yet....
... Why is it that you always find it in the last place that you look? ...
